I'm so sick of roulette expert , but so fucking sick of doing the same shit over and over 239483290840923749237923784079328 times for cap 450 tomes, because i can't get tomes without doing expert (80-90 tomes)

this is a game that is supposed to apeal to everyone in one way or another, so you're saying its fair for the ones that actually enjoy a challenge be cheated out of it just because other people cannot do it? you have plenty of easy, and normal dificulty stuff around for casual players. theres no reason to remove the few hard features that exist nowadays.
that's exactly what he's saying, and I'd agree!
I ran the top endgame guild on a server for years in XI downing everything except AV pre-abysea.3. FF11...Sigh... is the most unbalanced game with the most ridiculous end game requirements that I have ever played. The Exp attributes were a terrible idea. They punished new players and casual players in end game content for lack of time invested in farming exp for the merits to be able to get into raids. They will always be picked over by a guy who has merits compared to someone who does not.
I asked for people to have a few merit abilities/spells. As for the other 95% of merits I couldn't care less because it didn't matter. All content except 2 fights could be cleared in entree endgame level crafted gear.
The statement that people were picked over due to merits is complete BS. The game did not work like that at all. No one was left out in XI, the whole guild at once was included in almost all the content.
The main thing an endgame guild wanted in order of importance:
1) Playtime
2) Job diversity
3) Access to all content
4) Gear for the job. The higher level the guild the higher the requirement
People can hate all they want, but XI had one of the best designed endgames in the market even until this day.
BIS gear came from hnms, 6 man content, Quest, Dungeons, Instanced Boss fights, 3-4 man content, 24 man content, 64 man content, stuff that took 3hrs, stuff that took 15mins, Crafting, Main Story. And the content was relevant for 4+ yrs in most cases.
And not counting NM camping at all you had over 60 different endgame things you could do that Dropped relevant stuff to the progression of your character after a few expansions.
Were jobs unbalanced, yea. But people are not asking for jobs they want the content elements.

I think the main problem is having only 4 bosses. In WoW, at least until MoP, you had between 6 and 12 bosses per patch.
I'd love it if they simply remade the expert roulette into a "Every dungeon roulette" instead. You're getting higher rewards from the tokens than you get from the dungeon anyways, and I would like to point out that some of the lowlvl dungeons are actually harder to do while synched than Neverreap and Fractal. Would make the roulette feel alot less like a chore, and would also help out lowlvl players ques quite a bit.
Altho, I think the whole tokensystem like it is now should just be thrown out. It shouldn't give higher rewards than the current content does, it should give at highest the tier below current. I know that it basicly does this now, but at the start of the expansion it made no sence at all, giving ilvl 170 (easily upgradable to 180) gear for running dungeons that drop 160 gear, dungeons that at the time (and currently) is supposed to be the "hardest" lightparty content. Entry gear for Alex normal should have been 160 and maybe the weapon from bismarck, that in this case should have been 165/170, and normal alex should have dropped/given 170 loot. But the expansion pretty much dropped two sets of tiers from the start (160&170) due to easy law and upgrades for those.
I thought the new airship exploration will reward high level gears with randomize stats to give us more options when it comes to gears? Overall we have plenty of gears from 170-200 and soon 210. Hopefully gears do not last 4 years in this game. FF14 is NOT FFXI, as much as there are many good things about FFXI, that game has the worst system ever. It is extremely unbalanced, and favor certain jobs above everything else. They might as well delete half the jobs in FFXI since no one uses them as viable "endgame jobs".
Half is more than THEY expected, so it didn't fail to me. People who didn't go are either too new to have the ilv, or never gonna do 8-man stuff they don't have to (they'll do HM to unlock lv 60, but not EX).Yet when alex became 2 modes with the 1st mode being super accessible and easy with story mode in mind, only about half even bothered to see it, as opposed to 'content for minority' with proportionate number of clears for coil. Blabber about the economy of content production all you want, as far as I'm concerned, alexander normal failed its purpose.
You get 40 from the dungeon itself, 35 from roulette. If you did roulette and you didn't get Neverreap or Fractal, you'd need to run it 12x a week to cap. Essentially, you'd have to run roulette AND Fractal, or Fractal x2, per day, 6 days. If you don't do savage or alex NM.I'd love it if they simply remade the expert roulette into a "Every dungeon roulette" instead. You're getting higher rewards from the tokens than you get from the dungeon anyways, and I would like to point out that some of the lowlvl dungeons are actually harder to do while synched than Neverreap and Fractal. Summoner first, Scholar second...but mainly crafter.
oh so for you grinding dungeon like a pure "no-brain" is your definition of "fun" ?
probly, someone else could claim the sayd boss, but THAT it what made the game fun, explosion of joy !!, or even infuriating ...
it gave some challenge,
and ppl with best organisation won
(and on the server where i was, we agreed with other LS on schedule not to disturb other ppl, farming time)
and you say lock 6hrs, BUT GOD, DO WE EVEN HAVE SOMETHING WORSE SPENDING 6HRS ON ENDGAME CONTENT ATM ????????
let me answear for you,
NO !!!
(and dont mention the zeta weapon, because those are already USELESS !!!)
Play 11 then. idk what to tell you. Square is not going to change a formula that is more profitable than 11.oh so for you grinding dungeon like a pure "no-brain" is your definition of "fun" ?

FFXI had an amazing endgame, that kept people playing for years. FFXIV has an endgame set on repeat that people are already complaining about. Farm the same two dungeons over and over, cap tomes for gear. reset in 3 months and do it again for gear with slightly higher of the same boring stats. The raids are useless, no point beating your face on savage alexander when the gear is the same stuff you can get with eso currency with a different look.
