FFXIV has an endgame problem and it needs to be changed

We shouldn't even have a Normal version of the raids though, it ruins things for the players that actually like raiding... Then have some other easier raid with different story for them. Or even better, have the same raid "area", but different bosses etc, so you get additional story from the Savage version.

You want to be the example of the elite lording it over the commoners about story?

People who even can complete Savage don't do it for story, and have some sense not to want to cut others (you know, 99.7% of people) from story. I doubt people will stay so that in 7 months, they can see story with echo and 40-50 ilvs higher, they'll just leave.

People also like to tout the fact that the mid to hardcore population is in the minority and would love it when they get marginalized. Yet when alex became 2 modes with the 1st mode being super accessible and easy with story mode in mind, only about half even bothered to see it, as opposed to 'content for minority' with proportionate number of clears for coil. Blabber about the economy of content production all you want, as far as I'm concerned, alexander normal failed its purpose.
