Inventory & Storage Management - Much Needed Improvements

Hello to all, i decided to make this thread just to throw out some thoughts that i believe will make the lives of everyone easier. Without knowing the exact technical limitations in place for multiplatform i believe my suggestions don't change the fundamentality of the system, they just improve it.

To start with the Retainer Storage,

At the moment Retainer storage is very un-user friendly in terms of doing the stuff you need to do.

For example why do i need to go through 3 menus and wait for an animation each time i want to check a different retainer chest, i am using 4 retainers and its a nightmare if i want to find mats or items, just waiting over those menus and animations each time.

1)There should be one main storage screen with buttons for each individual retainer chest so you can switch on the fly. Similar in how the Free Company Storage chest works.

2)Second there should be a dedicated crafting material storage or the ability to designate certain retainers as crafting storage, all materials stored there should be used automatically when you attempt to craft without the need to remove the mats from your retainer into your inventory in order to craft something.

3)The whole hierocracy of the retainer menu system is convoluted. The order should be sth like this : Summoning Bell > Retainer Storage, Market Sales, Ventures. This way you will only see the venture related options and features only if you press ventures.

4)There should be a basic sorting and stacking functionality, people can use advanced macros for customized sorting but there should be a basic functionality added as a button there, for most people that would suffice.

About the Player Inventory,

1)First of all we need one button that will deposit all the crafting materials you have automatically into your crafting retainer when you have the crafting retainer storage open.

2)Second, the ability to designate items as being "trash" for example "bat wings", "allagan silver pieces" etc, when you go to an npc to sell, add a button there to sell all trash automatically.

3)Lastly basic sorting and stacking functionality should be added here too.


All these are small interface changes that will go a long way into saving time and frustrations.

I can only hope some of this functionality or similar adjustments are made someday, anyways have fun everyone and cya ingame!

Most of this I agree with. Especially #2 on the retainer list. Huge stacks of crafting mats on my retainers and have to hunt for what I need. Might also do a box in your home or in the FC hall that allows you to drop in all your crafting materials and its used from there.
