Say that again when you have a bunch of 60s, a lot of 50s, and while you are leveling/using your DoL and DoH. All that without doing a trip to your retainers every 30 minutes, nor discarding old gearsets that you bought, grinded for and/or crafted with a lot of effort, and that you would like/need to keep for glamours. And God help you if you want to PvP while being able to change your job as needed.
That doesn't work without using your own FC, as we can't send mail to our own alts.
If we keep getting more and more items, gear sets for every job, and keeping some key stuff on our regular inventory, it's only logical to increase the available space (in-game). The fact that after 3.1 we'll be able to store event items on the armoire without waiting X months is a step in the right direction, but we still need to fix the rest.
Well, when you have a garage full of junk you should get rid of it. That is your problem. I got rid of all my 50 and below gear.Say that again when you have a bunch of 60s, a lot of 50s, and while you are leveling/using your DoL and DoH. Good for you if you don't care about your wasted gil and time (past and future, when they want to use it), but other people do, and they don't consider that stuff "junk".
Then good luck with your full inventory. =P
If you don't get rid of trash it will eventually clutter up, only save stuff that has a unique appearance. Toss the rest.
You should really stop and count the amount of stuff with an unique appearance (and I doubt that folks even like and save half of it).
Not to mention the amount of class/job specific equipment that we have and that we can't share among classes/jobs. While during ARR we had enough gear sets that could be used by DoW, DoM, DoM and DoL, we now have a lot that have more specific restrictions. That actually inflates the amount of needed equipment that you need to use both at 60 and while leveling. And don't get me started about the crapton of materials that exist and that, if you don't want to waste money on the MB, you'll want to gather and carry by yourself. Oh, and I forgot how we keep getting more and more gear tokens that add up to our regular inventories, too.
When we keep getting new stuff and that new stuff is useful for a character that can have multiple jobs/classes on different levels, it's only logical that the need for more inventory space arises. However, it has not been increased because of "limitations", not because the devs don't see that we actually need it. Why do we have these limitations, or why do they keep putting more items/locked gear sets instead of optimizing the itemization until they're able to fix the inventory space issue? Who knows.
AF sets, AF2 sets, LotA sets, ST sets, CT sets, Ironworks sets, the i100 Weathered set I can't remember the name of, Forager/Artisan gear, the profession-specific green sets ... It all adds up, you know.
You can just buy that stuff again if you need it. However I always get rid of "ugly" gear.
Then again i'm a male, so not a lot of stuff looks good on my characters.
