    I feel like they should really redo some of the jobs from the ground-up before deciding adding new ones for every role. Specifically BRD and MCH (when compared to each other) and PLD if they don't address the tank dps thing well enough in 3.2.

    Different content types like 4-man "savage" difficulties or a more dynamic environment (at least something that changes per patch cycle) would be nice too.

    what specifically would you like to see with a change in bard and machanist? Would you like them to feel more dynamic from each other?

    As for classes, I'd bet on SAM, RDM (or BLM. Either way, a mage) and dancer (but that's just my wishful thinking on this last one).

    It's been said that ARR was designed with a 2/2/2/2 role requirement in mind (2 Tanks/2 DPS/2 Healers/2 Hybrid). They'll get it eventually, but this is the time to experiment, because you don't want them doing that once they game is hyper established.
    oh dear, I so hope they rework this entire mess we have now and make something great for 4.0.

    Heck, I'd even happily wait for 5.0 if they can get rid of that can of worms we have right now while they are testing stuff.

    I just hope we do not get a mage type of healer. I rather have Dancer or Chemist as the next healer.

    I was hoping for a mage type of DPS we have so much physical DPS right now and only 2 magic damage dealers in SMH and BLM yet we have 2 ranged physical damage dealers as well as 3 melee physical damage dealers we need more fire and explosions!!!!!

    I'd quite like;

    Red Mage - melee based mage DPS, combo with swords, applies DoTs with magic (Dia?), perhaps direct damage spell like Banish, makes sense for them to have Cure too, melee ability to do damage based on DoTs (basically Fester, but Fencer...).
    Dancer - Exactly what is was in Final Fantasy XI, just play up the healing is it's actually as solid as White Mage et al.
    Blue Mage - mage based tank, with a counter mechanic that basically takes whatever you get hit by, and turns that into an attack for you.

    As for the location... Thavnairia, that place was mentioned long before Doma (plus Doma was completely destroyed IIRC), and the Alchemist quest even has a nice little reference to Blue Mage in it, with a certain Thavnairian Alchemist...

    Really want Samurai as well though... Just Red Mage (melee mage DPS), Dancer (melee healer), Blue Mage (mage tank) is far more interesting. Samurai would either be another melee DPS or melee tank, and we've got plenty of those already... If SE wants to get people trying different roles, they should try switching up the playstyle with something like a melee based healer...

    I have to agree I think a melee healer would be a nice switch up I never played XI but Alot of people have been bringing up dancer and I would totally love a blue mage tank great ideas nalien!
