Finishing up the MQS to Heavensward last week: average queue time 1hr, longest queue 1 1/2 hrs. Once we had to wait for a healer, every other time we were waiting for tanks.
Be nice to those guys people, they are getting scarce!
Yup its because they are wasting their grind time in an actual dungeon rather than spamming alex savage or selling it. Just let them die. Each time I get in heavensward's dungeons, a dps or more ofter the healer (yeah the healer) just go foward and pull the mobs before me. I tell them not to, they get mad and start blabbering things like he doesn't have time for this and I should be pulling more. I am not a bad tank, in fact, I usually don't have issue with more bobs at once.
My point is I should be the one getting them and not the others just because they want ultra fast clear. I like taking time and not having a cluster hell in front of me. Why people needs to always be super fast with everythings and not actually enjoy the game? Playing a game or a MMO shouldn't be at any time a chore.
Peoples seems to forget that video games is for fun, not stats/numbers.
Lets hope you dont meet me then, because you will die if you pull anything xD
Of course that depends if the tank wants to save your butt.
If a tank gets into an instance on average of 10 seconds, and you get in as a DPS in 5 minutes, the tank is queuing 30 times faster than you. When you consider scenarios like
it's safe to say tank queues are far shorter than other roles, whether you find the wait for them to be short or not, and demonstrates pretty effectively that tanks remain the most in demand role for pug content.
Tanks whining about people pulling to much, dps whining about tanks not pulling enough.
Tanks whining about dps being selfish, dps whining about tanks being diva's.
Ah the PuG life, has not changed across any MMO platform... My advice to both sides, make some friends. Play with them, don't PuG.
Shai and Evangela are way to angry, relax guys. Chill, you don't want to end up with PTSD from a forum thread. We have Tumblr for that.
But they do.... Its very rare that I get into a DF run in under 15 minutes.... normally its 30+. On my tank or healer is under 5... sometimes instant lol.
So yes they do have to wait a long time.
Add more options to the DF:
- Expert Roulette (Normal) - Rewards decreased if cannot complete within 20 minutes.
- Expert Roulette (Tortoise) - Rewards decreased if complete before 40 minutes.
What's the point? People would do both these roulette just to claim the rewards, and they would still complain about the same things.
That is your own (and maybe a lot of people) view about the word.I always feel people don't really know what elite means.
An elitist is someone who is aristocratic or a snob. And anyone can really fall into this category. But saying that someone who is well geared, can handle a lot and doesn't want to spend twice the time in a dungeon than is really necessary is an elitist is kindda stretching it.
Usually I find the true elitist is the person in a dungeon who doesn't really want to learn their job or is too lazy to perform their job and wants to watch Netflix as they tap a couple buttons, because they had a long day at work or school. Doesn't want to really work at any content and just wants to faceroll or get carried thru things, cause you know its "just a game" and they think their definition of fun is the exact same as everyone else. Or they feel their real life is more important than anyone else's therefore making the way they want to spend their little time in game more important than anyone else's.
- As well as the people who will not take the time to teach or guide someone new, or be understanding if you are trying your best
If you think that the way you play is the only way to play and everyone else in your party...or worse....that the devs need to bow to your every whim
YOU are the elitist, whether you spend an hour a week in game or 100
I will speak for myself: When I get into a dungeon/trial/instance, I give my total attention to it, no matter if it's too easy or hard as hell. For me, that's courtesy that I would like to feel reciprocated by the rest of the party toward me and others.
The problem arise only about the pulls.. can you imagine that?
I don't mind to redo the same and sometimes super long dungeons, be it that I'm with new members that never saw it, or with others that aren't that good, or others that are too good, or even "elites"
I don't mind for clears, for me I enjoy the moment. I'm in the game to be in the game, not to be the Über-duper with iLvl220 when the max is 210..
Everyone seems to want to rush for their own reasons. If you are so eager about your "wasted time" by all means..
Stop playing any games, or sports, unless it's your way of living ffs!
It's not a way of life, it's an hobby! Yes, you can go and have a sound sleep, the game will still be there tomorrow. Go study for your exams so you won't fail at it and then, come back here, we'll be happy to play with you!
Elite for me is as well an attitude, a selfish one that doesn't considerate others, and yes it can be applied to Tanks as well.
the missing part? Communication.
but that, is another waste of precious minutes inside the instance!
So most of the time, the first pull will be made to see how it goes with the party, and then we adjust accordingly.
Some Tanks will feel so at ease to that particular instance that they will go blindfolded and still be able to do massive pulls. Link it with a new Healer into the game, he won't be able to make it.
Other Tanks will not feel at ease, and might be discouraged and blamed and then, opt out and never touch Tanking..
DPS, unless there is a DPS check, are needed to avoid AOE and stuff, and do their thing per job choosen.
Weird that DPS checks comes and then Healers and Tanks are required to DPS as well.. DPS not doing optimally?
perhaps? Then who's to blame?
You know what?
For me, I don't care if we don't meet the DPS checks, I don't care if we wipe once, twice, thrice.
For me again, sticking together, with mixed people, good and bad, and to overcome those weaknesses and.. to complete our mission, is what makes me to love this game.
Being with mixed people from around the world is what makes this game to feel great, and sometimes sour.
Hence why, perhaps, you don't see lots of Tanks; because they decided to Tanks for their Family (FC) and friends. /problem solved.
Shai's reply which I find right:Quote Originally Posted by MicahZerrshia View Post

Shai:That's funny. I feel like you don't know what elite means, only I'm using a dictionary to define it.
