If they want to pull, i'll usually let them tank until they quickly die, then i'll pick the mobs up.

Ignore those type of players. I have learned a long time ago that there alot of those type of players and they will never learn. Let them pull and let them die, they either let you pull or they continue and die. Worst case, you will be kicked out of the group, but in my opinion that itself is a blessing.
Better to move on and join a new group, as a tank the queue wont take long for you.
Hey thanks a lot for the positive feedback! I am not squishy at all. I can manage myself quite good, it's just that those people try to run things they shouldn't.
Just wanted to vent a little, sorry for that.
I agree as well. I like a simple run. Having people run ahead miss buffs or over pull in an attempt to speed run can ruin runs. I hate rushing only to wipe because of an inpatient players.
Alexander 3 is EXTREMELY like this, i have had 1 out of at least 20 runs where both tanks run off before the healer even could cast protect.
Hell I once even said please wait "30 seconds, just changed class" and the tank immediately starts running like a madman.
It's safe to say we wiped on the first thrash mobs because "Surprise, surprise" I couldn't even cast a heal yet!
In which i got the response "HEALER WTF?! WHY U NO HEAL?!", in which my response was "Why didn't you read chat, nor wait for everyone to be ready?"
I like fast runs, really I do, I can solo heal Everything up to Alex 4(Normal), I have no problems with fast runs or big pulls.
But running ahead of the group like an blood crazed idiot while people are still preparing? That just makes you a bad tank.
And by preparing i mean normal dungeon/trial preparations. summoning pet, Protect, Etc.
There is no need to do this inbetween each pull so in short; no need to overdo that either.

Actually, slow tanks are bad tanks for daily dungeon runs in FFXIV. you should know that already.
That's kinda the attitude that cause the problem here.
People ASSUME everything. I should't be knowing everything before I try anything even if it's first time. Taking the comment of Cyruss here:
People who aggro more than the tank decide to have no idea of what going on behind the screen the mentionned. Peoples assume that the tank can take everything, but sometime the dps aren't up for the massive mobs comming towards them (which is why I hate when it's the healer who pulls).
Wrong. Tanks who die a lot, or who cannot hold aggro - those are bad tanks.
Fast or slow has nothing to do with bad or good.
People who are in such a hurry that a few minutes extra on a dungeon run is a problem - those people should not be using DF to find people to play with.
Heck, if they are in such a hurry they shouldn't have time to play games at all.
No, it's not being a bad tank... jeez...
Just because you've got somewhere to go in a short while and want to rush to death, doesn't mean I want to rush there either.
If you party with me, it'll be a little slower... only a little... but ya won't die. Unless I'm tired or somethin'...
