I believe you can, but I'm willing to bet people are still going to complain that they don't know what to do to get that Esoterics bonus, or that other people in their party refuse to turn it off because they don't share the same opinion.can always just set the HUD settings to not display the duty list before you go in the exploration, ask teh party members to do the same and the whole run will be a surprise. only issue is, you may have to set a timer on the side to keep track of how long you got left in the area.
i know you can, i do it all the time when doing favor items gathering, because the list clusters the area where i click to use the mouse for camera changing. its very annoying to accidently open the duty list journal when you're trying to rush gathering lol.
its just a matter of asking other people if thye want to do it, or if they dont, ask them to not share the list details till after for example, 50 min already gone and nothing on the list done.
from what i seen/heard, i think the objectives on the list will be rather straightforward and something that you will end up just meeting along the way, nothing something you gonna have to actively hunt around for.
Unless these areas are randomly generated, there will be no exploration past the first week. People will figure out the best route to take through the area to get the maximum rewards. These will become as formulaic as most other content in the game.
That's not to say that the content can't still be fun. I have high hopes for it. Just trying to keep expectations in check.

Depends. There are alot of people who dont use gathering or crafting classes. So if your group is good you will have gatherers to complete the checklist. Pretty sure people will find the most efficient way to use the 90 minutes.
Suggestion. If it bothers you that much, type the following simple text command into your chat, and retype it when you leave the exploration area......
/hud dlist
Problem solved. You can't see the objectives, so for all intents and purposes they don't exist to guide you. Explore, kill things, whatever. You might get a bonus if you complete some of these "hidden objectives", but you won't know what they are unless you deliberately try to look to them for guidance. Fully, unguided exploration, as you desire.....
Still won't stop others from looking at theirs (as they have the right to keep) and including the fact that I can't solo these It'd feel like I'm doing less work for my team by running around aimlessly (in their eyes).Suggestion. Tbh, I actually would take your advice if I was absolutely sure that there was hidden content, because that would mean there's something I can find on my own along with list I pushed to the side, its fun to find hidden new things. I may have to look at the stream again to see if they mentioned hidden secret mobs, because that would be pretty rewarding. Hell, I'd be even ok with the list IF there was something hidden I could find. Otherwise its just a scavenger/monster hunt

There is almost certainly far more content than what is displayed on the list. Those are just the "bonuses" you can complete to get extra rewards. There will be plenty of high level mobs running around, gathering spot, and secrets beyond those few items listed there...Still won't stop others from looking at theirs (as they have the right to keep) and including the fact that I can't solo these It'd feel like I'm doing less work for my team by running around aimlessly (in their eyes).

I hope so. Even with my current gripes about the upcoming patch I'm still hyped for it. Mainly because I've been waiting for 6 months for this and I'm so friggen bored of the same thing that if a moogle flew up to my room window at my fc house my mind would f#$%in explode. There is almost certainly far more content than what is displayed on the list. Easy solution, turn off your quest display side bar. Problem solved .
I hope that - in the future - we get something similar to FFIX's 'Chocobo Hot and Cold' minigame. That was a lot of fun and I feel like making that game into something bigger would work out well for FFXIV.
