My thoughts exactly ._.Wait... what? I'm extremely anti-social, and even I have added more than 5 friend requests in a single day. What happens when you join a new FC, and immediately start making friends with them? Or what happens if you are introduced to a friend's friends, or start a new character on the same server, or decide to leave an old FC but you try to add people to your friend list before you go?
They never give any of these ideas the necessary amount of thought, and have to backtrack later in apology.
At least raise it to 7 people, so I can friendlist a whole party..
Eh I suppose the limit is a step up but doesn't stop the shouts/says nor the whispers and fact we still have to fill out a form. Can see how this can be a bad thing for more social people but personally as someone who has played since closed beta I have amassed a total of about 10 people on my friends list. I think just having a "/tell<level>" would be enough or mix it with a friends only tell. I doubt they would actually work to level all the bots to 50/60 just to start spamming tells to eventually start being banned for it.
Makes sense to me, your not going to know all of your friend's friends, you meet and become friends :P

If your friend requests are DENIED 5 times in a day you are locked out for 24 hours. (I wish)
That's how I would have set it up for the same purpose but not impacting proper players. :| guess band-aid will have to do.
I think that's how I would prefer it. That is, if I'm understanding correctly. Are you saying, the limit does not go down if the friend request is accepted?
Well, that's how I would have done it. You can send as many friend requests are you like in a day, but once 5 people deny your request you're locked out. Maybe you can only have 5 active friend requests at a time too to prevent someone from just mass-requesting then getting locked out.
That's not how it will be in 3.1 - 3.1 is 5 friend requests a day max.
Actually, this is a very good idea. If you want to keep chatting with more people via tells, just add them to your friend list. Unless you're extremely social and spam friend request, I see no problem with that first step and the implementation of what Lucke just sugggested. I'm tired of being in /busy mode.
"After laughing for an entire day at the ridiculous idea created by Square Enix"
Well..."deep breath" I guess Square Enix loves to be unique on their own xD. I mean I don't know about you all but I don't know many games that restricts your friend requests, if any at all.
Good thing I'm kind of asocial though.
