But. . . isn't "Thou is all" grammatically incorrect? Call the Loc team back! >_>

It would definitely be wrong if the second thou was referring to the person. The way I'm reading it, it's saying
Thou (You)
art (are)
that (all that is reality)
and
Thou (Thou; NOUN, not PRONOUN.)
is
all (things at once).
So if a Thou is all things at one, then you are as well. Therefore, in reverse:
Thou art that and thou is all.
It sounds like a conjurer-y harmony hippy thing based on some deep Hindu lore.
REMINDER: THIS ENTIRE ASSUMPTION IS BASED ON THE POSSIBILITY THAT A JAPANESE ART PACKET DESIGNER KNEW OF THE UPANISHADS AND DECIDED TO WRITE AN ENGLISH-TRANSLATED QUOTATION OF IT ON AN IN-GAME ITEM - AND THAT NOTHING WE ARE SEEING IS A TYPO.
I don't know how probable all of that being true is; especially the part that assumes there's no room for error... they did... you know, put it in the game horizontally inverted and all...

Let me hop in here for a sec, fellas.
Actually, when we were first asked for the text for this inscription prior to release, we gave the designer "Thou are that and that is all," and assumed they could handle a simple copy paste job. Oh, how wrong we were...
So, when Zuel first reported the "backwards inscription" bug and I took a look at it on-screen, I noticed that they had, in fact, taken the liberty of typing in the English rather than copy pasting it, and had, in fact, managed to botch it by getting one of the seven words wrong. When I forwarded the bug along, I also reported this issue, which they were able to promptly fix--the corrected text will go live in the next patch.
I was informed, unfortunately, that there is nothing that could/would be done about the inverted text on the reverse side of the stone. What say we just chalk that one up to some in-game magic anomaly?
I honestly don't know whether to be amazed you got this reference, or disappointed you missed the soupçon one, Moose.
Now if you'll excuse me, while you're all napping away in the Occident and elsewhere, it's getting awful close to Beer:30 over here...
That's actually what I assumed the quote was supposed to be. Mostly because it makes the quote grammatically correct. >_>Let me hop in here for a sec, fellas.

I'm gonna stick with my erroneous assumption that it's a stone with the inscription laid straight through it; I've seen such a thing before (I think stonesmiths like showing off that they can carve a perfect 3D letter out of stone and then LAY IT THROUGH another stone.).
While the assumptions NETFLIX makes to my taste in movies have been quite askew lately, I did have what I consider to be the best philosophy professor on this planet. The Vedas and the Upanishads were two of the first things we blew through on "the ten most important religious texts ever" tour.
