I need help for registering HeavensWard

    Hey everyone!

I have a huge problem. I recently bought HeavensWard, and for some reason my freaking Mog Station now says my FFXIV is the Steam Version. Which is total crap.

I live in freaking Hong Kong, so there's no way FFXIV is accessible through Steam from here.

Furthemore I even have the codes for my account. I don't even know why this happened. How can it suddenly just do this to me when I JUST get HeavensWard.

I also have my HeavensWard Code as well. I sent a support ticket already, but got no reply. Can anyone please help me?

Where did you get your copy of FFXIV from? Did a friend give you a spare code? I only ask because a lot of people (myself included) bought the game again on Steam just to get it in Steam and then gave our Steam codes away to friends as they were simply no use to us. If you did get it from a friend, this might be what they did.

Another reason you might have a Steam version is if you bought it off somewhere like G2A and the person selling it had put up a Steam version (even if they didn't make it clear at the time).

There's technically no difference between the Steam and non-Steam versions (they use the same launcher/files) and the only difference is a flag on your account which says if it's Steam or not. So it sounds like you've actually always had the Steam version and might not have realised as it wasn't until HW came out that they updated the Mogstation to make it clearer if you had a Steam account.

Despite having seen lots of people having similar issues when HW came out, I've unfortunately not heard of SE changing any HW codes from non-Steam to Steam or converting accounts from Steam to Non-Steam so I'm afraid you're probably out of luck there and would either need to buy a non-Steam version of FFXIV and start over (!) or buy a version of Steam version HW (which is going to tricky if they don't sell it in your country/would require a friend in the matching game region (NA/EU/JP) to buy it for you).

Sorry I don't have a better reply for you

This is how I found out I had the Steam version, too... bought a copy of HW and my Mog Station was like "nope"...
luckily I hadn't bought it from the SE store, and the vendor I got it from gave me a refund so I was able to go and get the Steam version. All I can really suggest is that if Steam is unavailable is to get a friend to buy it on Steam for you (make sure the region matches with your ARR copy, of course) and then just send you the codes.

I literally have the box where I bought FFXIV.

As far as I know there is no Steam logo on this box. I don't even know why this is happening. If this isn't changed I'm seriously dropping FFXIV after this sub ends. I can't even buy FFXIV from Steam in my region, so how can I even get HeavensWard. Doesn't make sense. I'm seriously upset. Not even an admin from SE has talked to me yet (and verified my game code, so they know I'm not making this up). Like what is going on here?!??!?!
