Er they may just be going off to look for the remaining missing scions? Tataru wasn't available to play cards until after during the 3.0 storyline so maybe she is just doing something else. Besides the number of npcs that SE has actually killed in XIV is fairly low (if that helps).

Sorry, I'm just a mite paranoid after the number of major characters deaths in 3.0. I edited my post a little, this was kinda knee jerk reaction to the patch notes reading.

Eh, speak for yourself. Alphinaud is my favorite character in FFXIV, and only one of two characters that I'm significantly invested in, emotionally. Normally, I'm fairly indifferent to what happens to characters, so long as its a good story. But I think it will kill me if something happens to Alphinaud.

The other character I was invested in was Haurchefant. Whyyyy? I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a well-done and meaningful death, and I knew it was coming, but it didn't stop me from repeating 'No, no, no' under my breath as it was happening. T_T

Yeah, the MSQs seem kinda short this time. Here's to hoping they're multi-parted and it doesn't end up a bore like the majority of 2.1's were. Though, to be fair, it's hard to get much worse than 2.1's.

As expected most of the MSQ is handed out by Alphinaud, with Krile getting one quest in there... but "Against the Dying of the Light" and "As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness" are both handed out by Lucia of all people. Yoshida has hinted we might be getting another of the Scions back this patch, though. Cross your fingers!

If I'm not guessing based on false information, I'd say Thancred. Bar Krile's voice all the spoken lines are by males, without the higher pitch of Lalas. The first of them I think was Haurchefant's brother, Amyeric, Warrior grunting, and a mysterious final voice. Though Why Thancred would be questioning who we are in that way is curious, if I am right.
