Or you could do CP IV + Control IV + Control IV + Craftsmanship III + Craftsmanship IIIf materia goes down in price I will definitely start melding. But you will need materia IV to reach caps or even come close to it.
Example Astral birch Ring HQ (the "easiest" to cap)
Cp 23 (cap 27)
Control 0 (cap 8)
Craftsmanship 0 (cap 9)
You need one CP IV + 2 CONTROL IV + CRAFTSMANSHIP IV + CRAFTSMANSHIP III
Crafting is my Endgame, and I'm an Elitist.
The point of Specializations was to fill the role of some of the now near mandatory lvl 50 Cross-Class abilities. They were meant to allow those who only wanted to level a few Crafts to be able to HQ their Endgame Crafts. Omni-crafting has always been available, and yes it can be a problem when everyone can Craft everything, but with HW they made it MUCH more difficult to reach omni-craft levels, while simultaneously easing the Endgame for non-omni-crafters. Those who were willing to put in the time and effort were rewarded with the ability to omni-craft, but with Specialist recipes no matter how much time or effort I'm willing to commit I will never be able to Craft every Specialist recipe at any time. Unlocking the Soul Crystal limit would have been a fair trade-off to this as I could have spent the next few weeks worth of Red Scrips unlocking Specializations for the rest of my classes, but as of right now that doesn't seem to be happening.
Specialist Recipes aren't the end of the world of course, but they're a thorn on the otherwise beautiful rose that is Crafting D:
Crafting is my Endgame, and I'm an Elitist.
For specialist it's fine if it's just glamour and housing items. If they ever do mats needed for other crafts that's when it's time to panic.
Agreed. If specialist recipes do not adversely affect my ability to craft regular DoH/DoL/Battle gear, it's an acceptable compromise if it ends complaints about omni-crafters.
As long as specialist recipes do not result in ingredients required for another class's crafting recipes, there isn't much harm in them. If you do end up needing specialist recipes from other classes in order to craft your own, however, I feel that specialist recipes will kill all but the most hardcore of crafting players, and thus the markets will be even more ridiculous, and result in the exact opposite the dev team claimed this red scrip/specialist system was supposed to do.
I've been debating this for a while. I let you know what I ended up doing thru pst XD Thanks :3
It is known that there is a small chance that DoW/M i170 gear converts into Tier V materia, so I would assume a similar chance exists for DoH/L (not that anyone would have taken the risk considering the cost until this point). There will likely be a few more flowing in from the Diadem, as well--if we're lucky, from direct drops, if we're less lucky, people will be trying to transmute elemental Tier Vs at Mutamix and getting good stuff out.
Overall, this seems much more feasible than 3.05, and I'm pretty pleasantly surprised; it restores the DoM/W <---> DoH side of the gil triangle. Time to go use all the tokens I've been sitting on.

Actually, the i160 Crafted Chestpieces can yield TV as well:It is known that there is a small chance that DoW/M i170 gear converts into Tier V materia, so I would assume a similar chance exists for DoH/L (not that anyone would have taken the risk considering the cost until this point). Alright so, as someone who doesn't craft, how easy will it be to get into crafting now provided that I have a 150 set that someone gave me?
