Patch 3.1: Crafting Reborn (?)

Here are the patch notes.

I must say I really like what I've just read.

Important things are:

1) Players can now exchange Allagan tomestones of law for Purified Coke, Raziqcoat and the other crafting materials for 2* recipes (1800 tomestones each);
2) The number of items received when trading with the Splendors Vendor in Idyllshire (X:6 Y:4) has tripled (NQ mats);
3) The number of red crafters' scrips required for high-quality items available for exchange from the Splendors Vendor in Idyllshire (X:6 Y:4) has been reduced from 3 to 1;
4) Specialist recipes are coming.

So now the time/gil requirement is considerably reduced (divided by 3). What do you think?
I'm just going to say that I'm happy I decided to keep farming my red scrips.

Anyone who held their scrips are about to be rewarded. But those favors are still annoying and not adjusted.

I'm glad I sold a lot of my red scrips while I still got so much money out of them. I feel a bit sorry for those that bought them, though. But that's the price for being an early adopter.
I wonder how much the prices will fall. It seems to be 5x 1'800 for a two star base material (which I find quite a lot).

I think they have adjusted it, so that at least one node will spawn.... :/ not much yes..
BUT maybe the ooids can be traded against those Steel Sky Pirate Spoils.

Are Ooids so undesirable? Or you mean you can get them by trading undesired equip from explorations?

I'm referring to this:

Steel Sky Pirate Spoils
Disciples of the Land can gather steel sky pirate spoils in the Diadem. These can be redeemed for a variety of goods by speaking with the Spoils Collector in the Pillars (X:14 Y:10).
* Spoils traders and collectors can also be found inside the Diadem and residential areas.

But who knows what we can trade them in for.

ANYWAY, we can desynth the ilvl 170 and 180 law gear! This has to mean something good!

I think that yes the crafting will reborn with the patch, because everything ça' be more easily obtainable.
Still... You have to succed your craft but it's a minor step

And yeah 170/180 desync means a new way to access some compo

I'm sooooo please about this adjustment and I can't wait but my only problem is still the colossal amount of money I'm gonna have to spend to fully meld all my classes..... I think I'm gonna wait until this materia melding nerf business coming in 3.2 to meld acccesories and carry on getting red scrip gear.

Extremely disappointed they actually implemented Specialist Recipes without unlocking the number of Soul Crystals that can be obtained. I've always striven to omni-craft both for myself and for my friends, and while at times it has been difficult to reach omni-craft levels it has never been impossible. I can strategize with friends on who will Specialize in what, but the reason I enjoy Crafting the most is because I don't HAVE to rely on other people. I know that sounds a little anti-social, but it's more along the lines of wanting to progress and Craft at my own pace and not have to hope that one of my friends with a certain Specialist logs in soon or that the item I want/need isn't on the market at an exorbitant price. I guess now I can just hope that nothing game changing is Specialist only =/

It's going to get to a point where there is going to be so much Materia flying around people won't be able to give it away. An FC with 4 Airships can produce full stacks of crafting IV materia in less than a month. Once all the melds are done and those Materia start piling up the 'problem' will become clear. For those that waited the least of our concerns will be materia.

You know you can and have always been able to get more "soul"s right? It's from the blue scrip vendor
