That is pretty well known, it's just during important fights you pretty much have to keep your focus on the party list and AoEs. Generally people keep their hotbars at the bottom of the screen and it's just not ideal to be looking for those tiny numbers.
What would be absolutely amazing is if there was a way to set how many yalms you personally would want the greyed out feature to show, but I highly doubt that'll be the case. Still it's a start, and a nice one nonetheless.

Im leaning more towards weather or not the party member is in your line of sight. Since we're still able to target something even though it's not in healing / attack range

Non-targetable, so much farther away than 30 yalms.

Yes, this is well known, but the range indicators in actions do nothing for people doing mouseover or focus actions. The costs only turn red if your hard target is out of range.

This isn't useful at all and was not designed with spell ranges in mind. It is simply rather you can click on them or not.

I'm still finding it useful for not wasting time to trying to heal people that get locked out of boss fights (but manage to pull trash somehow? O.o) or that go and stand with other alliances/somewhere far away.

    It's pretty useful, I'd say.

Atleast with a glance you (and one your party members) can tell if you're within range of each other
