Am I the only person who is disappointed by the mere concept of Egi-Glamours?

2.0, Summoner was very disappointing for me, you popped Ifrit or Garuda, then did your regular DoT rotation, perhaps with some input as to what the pet did (Contagion). A Job called Summoner, I think, should be doing more than one summoning...
3.0, Dreadwyrm Stance was a great addition, very true to the original Summoner, in that you pop Bahamut, do a single move, then he is gone...

That is how I want the Job to function as a whole... I kinda want them to just scrap the whole Job as it currently is, make Arcanist a healer (the DoTs being disease based even works for Scholar), and make Summoner an Extra Job like the Heavensward trio, meaning you can even have it require 2.55 completion and give it all Primals by default. I'd rather see the pet aspect of the Job just completely removed in favour of stance dancing between the various six Primals, with Bahamut remaining as the final pay off...

The whole Job honestly felt like it was rushed out for 2.0s release, Egi-Glamours just feels like a band-aid fix... Yeah it would give Summoner all the Egis, but I've never viewed that as the problem... I'd like to have all the summons, but I'd prefer to have them in a meaningful way... If they just let us switch between Titan/Shiva for Tank-Egi, Garuda/Ramuh for Mage-Egi, and Ifrit/Leviathan for Melee-Egi... Well, I'm still only summoning one Egi... I'd much rather the entire Jobs summoning be handled in the same way Bahamut-Egi is handled...

That said, I'm aware plenty of people like their DoT Mage, and I'm incline to agree, it's just to me it doesn't feel like it should be Summoner or a pet Job... I think it would be more apt to take some of the existing assets to build a real Summoner, and use the existing ones to make Red Mage... The whole DoT > burst mechanic actually seems quite fitting for Red Mage IMO, what with the whole spell fencer motif they commonly have... Rather than Fester you could have some sword play, for example...

Still, an update on Egi-Glamours would be nice... I'd like to know if they're sticking to their guns or planning a (IMO) real fix...
