In my opinion SE should be work on improve their LAZY seasonal events. In every single event happens the same: 1 set gear for glamour and furniture by completing a quest chain or spamming a fate on the main cities, also you can get all these stuff in 1 hour or less of playing.

This year All Saint's Eve event they give us a mount... GOOD THING but just by completing a quest chain so... SAME as always

In others mmorpg players have dungeons, fates, quest and a whole storyline that leads the story of the event. Also they have to play a lot in order to get the items they want so the event keeps you busy and makes you spend a great gaming time.

While having more to do for the duration of the seasonal event would be nice, WoW rarely changed or added anything to their events, and lazily rehashed the same thing over and over. Even after massive changes to the world, the holiday events were updated only at the last minute, sometimes after the event had already gone live. I'll never forget Santa's helper in Stormwind missing after the Cataclysm, because his usual spot was now burning inferno. It took them a week to update that. Or how about multiple years in a row awarding the same "2008 brewstein" as a quest reward.

As for other mmos, I can't recall many others that even HAD holiday events. Most of them just had new costumes added to the real money store (not introduced in-game first), or maybe had a few holiday themed enemies at best.

I like that every year, something new is happening in FFXIV, and the story and characters of previous years are advanced and updated.

A whole story for the event you say?
Hm...seems familiar. OH YEAH, exactly like how it is in xiv!
Also, other MMOs don't have fates.

Aaaand also, yes each event is always a quest chain, but its almost always different, so that point is moot.
