    It's called being unlucky. Something I'm very keenly aware of. I farmed tapers with a friend the other day and every single taper dropped to her loot list (that's 20+). After a while, she just started throwing some of them my way out of pity.

    It's more like cursed or bugged, because everyone in my static has gotten a few drops, while I have nothing to show for the same work that I have put in... doesn't seem right at all. This system is flawed, and should be revamped immediately in a patch 1.19b. Otherwise you will end up with players that will quit due to frustration; while others will stop playing till the next new patch. I am sad to say that I am part of the soon to quit of frustration group. Thank you SE, for driving away potential long term subscribers, with your new unbalanced loot system.

    P.S. I can solo farm tapers for an hour, and get over a stack using my MRD. They're relatively easy to attain. And aren't you glad that tapers go into loot, instead of directly into her inventory.

    I have an idea. If they already check for the lamp upon opening the chest, why can't they check for it while passing an item through the loot list? They still have their "key" in place, but without the frustrating insta-drop mechanic.

    I completely agree with this system being retarded.

    I myself went 1/60+ before getting a weapon. One I dont even want.
    Now aside from just being very unlucky...why shouldn't I just be able to give this to one of my teammates who actually does want it? Give me one good reason not to able to share your loot, like you always have been able to do.

    I read, loot drama somewhere. In my opinion, if loot distrubution is a problem for your shell, than your shell is what is wrong not the loot system.

    We did Batraal and everyone ended up with what they want. We do Ifrit and I go 1/60+ while someone else has 7 out of 7 weapons and yet another person has already gotten 7 Ifrit's Claws... I see no added value to this new loot system...

    My guess is its some crazy way to add re playability to this fight but this is not the right way at all. That or SE somehow gains sustenance from our anger.

    Just putting it out there:

    I hit Thaumaturge Level 50 today. My first Level 50 class.
    And I've decided to not persue Ifrit at this point, because Logic dictates it's not quite worth the effort with this silly loot system until either they fix it, or I have multiple other jobs leveled up to take advantage of it.

    Yeah it's pretty terrible. The least they could do is let every item from the chest go to our loot lists. How hard is that seriously?

    I can say from personal experience doing around 60 runs. I have 6 out of 7 weapons. It's completely random which is horrible. Yes it's nice that everyone gets a chance but it's not right that we all put the same amount of effort into a fight and get screwed over on gear. Now if they want to do a loot system where the worse you do the worse drops you get, i'm ok with that. But never punish a group that works perfectly and get screwed over. Most of the time it's 1 item per run to a random person. Rarely 2 and Extremely rare for it to be 3 items per run. We have one person in my ls who has 7/7 so it's all based on bs and luck pretty much.

    They do need to change this system so it's need before greed. SE expects people to level other classes that's why they chose this system, but it's completely ass backwards. I honestly don't know what they were thinking.

    Yep... Got 2 con canes so far just need to lvl my con 8 more lvls so I can use them. Its stupid that if you already have a weapon it doesn't give the option to go to loot list. It just disappears.

    Not really, Im a strong believer in that you should only loot the job/class you go as, even in FF11 I always felt this way, you are there contributing as that job so you should be looting for that job. (obviously if nobody wants the item then it goes to 2nd roll)

    Obviously if you want to play a different role then you need to put your foot down and say so.

    It's not uncommon to let the guilds/LS's main players gear up first, especially on the jobs they play the most though, I guess thats were DKP comes in /yuck

    Even in WoW you get Rogues and Feral Druids wanting the same gear or Tanking and Healing Paladins wanting off spec.

    Of course as others said ages ago it would be much more optimal and make more sense if the chest randomly dropped a broken horn which you could take to the old man in Gridania to have the weapon of your choice forged.

    They do need to fix this before the release of the dark moogle and other content.
