You do some weird hand motion in the air, I think something subtle happens on the target and that's it.
It's not particularly flashy.
So why does the description say doppleganger? Also thank you.
Same reason why:
-Wildfire describes smothering the target with burning pitch, and the icon shows a bundle of dynamite--but the animation is a land mine that you throw at the target that sticks to it and pulsates.
-Leg sweep hits the torso of your target.
-Divine Veil gives the party a damage shield, but shows the PLD tossing their sword up in the air and catching it.
I'm sure there are other examples of odd animations that don't match the descriptions.

Well, I guess that's still low.
Bah, nevermind my post. I completely read the original post wrong.

No idea. I reckon the idea is that you project your appearance to the target so that the enemy thinks that's the real you and thus everything you, the supposed clone, do is attributed to that person instead. Except that changing somebody else's appearance was considered annoying and thus not implemented.
It was a little bit disappointing, just as duality, where I expected a clone to briefly appear and do the same attack/animation as I. Instead, my character waves her daggers around a bit and the next weapon skill simply pops two numbers instead of one. Yaaaaay!
I'm assuming "Doppleganger" because whoever you cast it on gets the enmity you generate instantly.
So basically, if I pull the boss after hitting the tank with "Shadewalker", my clone, or Doppleganger, is seen by the enemy as a mirror on the tank. Therefore, the tank gets all my enmity. This is helpful to allow the tank to go DPS stance and deal more damage before needing to apply Enmity combos at the start, so long as "Shadewalker" is active on him.
