Im getting used to it but...

Hello everyone im actually making some progress doing behsest leves grinding quests/sidequests and ive made some money along the way.Id like to ask some things about crafting

I know already that a way to level up crafting is to do crafting leves but the thing is i can only take 4 leves atm, so what do i do after im out of leves how am i going to raise my crafting job?

for example do I need to buy mats from wards? or grind to gather the materials needed for crafting..?, i currently have 130k gil atm so it isnt much to buy anything. I want to raise my weaver carpenter and goldsmith jobs enough so i can make good quality gear to make money and to gear up my char

sry for the many Questions but crafting is my only concern at the game right now ive solved every other of my problems ive faced so far.. so any help with any info or advice would be appreciated

    thanks in advance.

Well, you can only take 4 crafting leves at a time. My understanding is that if you pick up 4, complete them, and turn them in, you can pick up another 4 right after that.

But yes, leves and grinding are the two methods to level up crafting, at the moment. When you join a Grand Company, you'll also be able to do supply quests for your GC to earn GC points.

And don't forget about Guild Tasks. The Adventurer's Guild in every city has a "Task Board." The Task Board offers two simple tasks for every gathering/crafting guild in that city. The two tasks are pretty low level--around a level 1 synth, and a level 10 synth. In addition to a reward of gil/shards/crystals, when you turn the required materials into the NPC at the guild, the lower level synth offers 300 bonus XP, and the higher level synth offers 500 bonus XP. You can do one a day for every guild. And unless they've changed it, you get the XP for whatever class you have currently equipped. So, for example, if the Carpenter's Guild Task for the day is to create an oak lumber. You create the lumber, then switch to Weaver, and turn it in, and you'll get 300-500 XP for your Weaver class.

It's not a ton of XP, but it adds up. 500 free XP a day = 3500 XP a week = 15,000 XP a month.

hello vydarr i didn't knew about task board i saw'em in adventurers guild but i didnt bother until know thanks once again for the useful info.

by the way do monster drop any useful materials for crafting, or the only thing you need from mobs are shards and crystals? cause ive noticed that i can buy most of the materials (except shards and crystals) from the NPCs in each guild but i don't know if those mats are only for the low lvl craft.

and lastly is there a warehouse or a bank where i can store things from my inventory there so i don't have to carry useless staff with me?.

Sheep just outside LL (Limsa Lominsa) drop sheepskin, which can be made into sheep leather for low-level LTW (Leatherworker) recipes or sold as high-level LTWs have a grinding recipe that uses them.

Coblyns outside Ul'dah drop ores I believe. At least they did in the past.

Funguars outside Gridania sometimes drop logs, which are of course useful for CRPs (Carpenters).

You want a Retainer (or two). One of the NPCs behind the counters in the Adventurer's Guild can help you.

Yes monster's drop some mats for some recipes, like a certain mob skin, fiber or claws for example, you better search online for recipes and and what materials you need and where to get them , sites like http://ffxiv.zam.com/ or http://ffxiv.yg.com/

and for storage we have retainers

Right now, every drop from any mob in the game can be used as an ingredient in some craft. In fact, there are several materials -- for example, boar leather -- are not sold by NPCs at all, so they can only be obtained from mob drops. You can only get them from killing mobs, or buy them from other players in the Market Wards.

Fair warning, though. Kobushi has wisely pointed you to a couple of my favorite databases for recipes. Unfortunately, since the recipes were completely overhauled in patch 1.19, those databases are out of date. They do not yet have the new items and recipes. So until those databases are changed to reflect the recipe changes from 1.19, you're better off using the recipes on Lodestone. You can get to those by going to the Lodestone front page, then clicking on "Synthesis."

As Robert and Kobushi said, you get lots of extra storage by "hiring" a retainer. (They're actually free, but you're supposedly "hiring" them.) Look behind the counters in the Adventurer's Guild in each city. You can talk to an NPC, who will walk you through the process. You can hire two retainers, and each retainer can hold an additional 150 slots of inventory (plus each has 10 slots for your bazaar).

Another benefit of hiring a retainer is that you can start selling stuff in the Market Wards. Place items into your retainer's bazaar, and then go into the Market Wards, and "call" your retainer. Your retainer will stay there, selling your stuff, for several days. Then you can re-visit your retainer and "exchange items" to collect the gil you've made.

Indeed, local leves available at the counter are refreshed whenever you fail or complete a leve (same with Regional leves).
