Scribes (inscription)? The Shroud is abundant in paper and ink mats.
Doh - Dancer
Not actually craft anything but dance in public for entertainment purpose.the audience can give them "tip" though.
Player will play music-rhythm minigames and also can form a party with other dancers with maximum of 8 (full party)
The more party member, the more XP but the difficulty will also increased.
Now i can foresee the idol group of catgirls everywhere ...
Thats a matter of opinion dude. When fun is a factor then just about everything crafting related is boiled down to, do this to get this to make this, its already a chore. Besides, SE already added more features to crafting and what we got is scrips (which imo is a piece of Opo droppings). A new class gives more options for your character, that's another way to see it.
Why have one? Well I don't see a reason to not have a new one. Its like asking for a samurai class to have someone say, "They should work on our current classes and improve upon them instead of that". Too me it just feels like you don't want to spend time on new content in fear of grinding or more crafting classes in your current repertoire. The idea itself is just a way to increase your characters personalization options, and to me thats what matters best in an mmo.
Oh yes, and the painter class could easily be immigrated just because of its nature. Painters could also build schematics that other classes can use to make things, as well as use pictures for inspirational buffs. Hell, even paintings that give you buffs just by being in range of them. XIV also lacks a way to increase specific resistances like blunt slash and piercing. Perhaps your character perceiving a picture of a gladiator blocking fire from a dragon would pump up your character to increase your magic resistance and blocking skill.

I think I'd rather Ishgard have a single crafter before gridania gets a 3rd haha.
I'd also like to point out that crafters starting in Gridania are at a slight disadvantage. Here's what I came to realize as I'm finally leveling crafting.
You start a new crafting job, get exp, and do a class quest. You get to choose a piece of gear. You then begin another crafting class, get some exp, and do a quest. You get to choose a piece of gear, and this time you can select something else. Do this a third time then go back to your earlier crafts and equip the new gear. Suddenly you find yourself better off than you originally were. This foreshadows how much more advantageous leveling multiple crafts will be. Something that wasn't nearly as strong in FF11.
Gridania doesn't get that 3rd class, so beginners are at a slight disadvantage. Luckily though it doesn't take much longer to gain access to the other cities.
Why argue the point then, you comment on how oh not having a 3rd crafts puts them at a disadvantage but for only like 2 seconds. Even then it doesn't put them at a disadvantage at all, oh so you have to spend a few minute goes to another area where guess what now you have 5 options, then you go to another area and you have 8 options, in the end everyone has the same amount of options and where you start truly doesn't matter.
If you are going to focus on crafting then quite honestly the first thing you would want to do is unlock airships, from there you have freedom to go to any area on the fly and then even use aerethyte to fly to xyz area. It really is confusing to try and point out how it's a flaw that there are only 8 crafts that it puts Gridanians at a disadvantage for the first 15-18 levels, at levels where it honestly doesn't take as long to level as it does form 40-50 or even 58-60 yet this small disadvantage is enough to create a whole new craft class that quite honestly won't help the situation at all?
