FF characters are which job?

For fun I would like to have it cleared what FFXIV jobs do characters from other FF games play? Some seem obvious like Tifa from FF7 looks like a Pugilist/Monk to me and in FFX Lulu resembles a Thaumaturge (Black Mage). But others are more difficult to figure out. Are they one specific job, a combination of jobs or a job that has not yet been introduced to FFXIV.

Edgar: MCH (It even says so in the GBA/Smartphone versions)
Rydia: ACN. She never gets the SCH crystal, just the SMN one. This explains why she's a reliable healer early game, but not endgame
Maat: PGL. He uses hand to hand, but has a wider variety of cross-class skills than MNK would have.

I kinda disagree on those (based on my tests, but in the end that is personnal preference).
For me, it's more like :
Penelo : Red Mage
Ashe : Samurai
Balthier : Lancer (Ulhan in FFxii)

Though 2 of them aren't in FFxic yet so I can get behind your choice

For FFx :
Yuna : BLM (seriouly. Her base magic is higher than Lulu's for a long time) or SMN.
Lulu : BLM. No choice here
Tidus : dunno. Monk with a sword maybe.
Auron : DRK
Wakka : bard or machinist. Support ranged.
Khimari : DRG
Rikku : Rogue without a knife

Just because he has a lance it doesn't make him a DRG. He's a blue mage actually, just like Quistis from FFVIII or Quina from FFIX.

He's a hybrid actually, the offline games do that a lot.

Except he jumps, and has a few dragon abilities (granted he learns them through blue magic but still).

Khimari is actually a DRG/BLU hybrid. Just like many other characters in single player FF games are hybrids because they have to fill in various roles from tanky damage dealer to supportive healer, in a party of 3 or 4 which is supposed to handle any situation thrown at their face
