Among other things, he calls for NA players in endgame contents to be more welcoming to newcomers, and I completely agree - the vitriol is why I quit raiding Coil in 2.x and haven't touched Alex Savage. You want more skilled players for your statics or even in PF in general, you need to teach them. Let them make mistakes, and forgive them. People aren't going to gitgud if you don't help.

I have to totally agree with you and people on the NA servers on the endgame side that they expect everyone to live to this standard and I don't think that is right. I believe everyone should have a chance to be able to get into a group and learn the fight and mess up a lot of not have to worry about people saying they are not good kick them. Everyone should be able to learn the content and full know the fights so that they can clear them with no problems.

I am going to agree with what the gentlemen said. There are a lot of casual players that want to alexander savage but they can`t because people are assholes and only want experience players. That is why the NA servers are bunch of no good judgemental bums. I think everyone should have a chance to do savage and learn it so they can complete it.

I think it's reasonable to expect a certain baseline of performance from players for level 60 content. Older content lends itself to more resources being available. Even disregarding that, players should be able to perform at a basic level while learning content.

But we don't always see this. Perhaps it's due to the prolific FATE system which doesn't translate well into instanced content. Some will point to a lack of a parser, as many players have no official way for being able to tell if they're improving or even meeting common expectations for their job. Maybe a lot has to do with western culture, which tends to be more centered on the individual than the group. I'm sure there are many other factors as well.

There's no one size fits all answer. Some are motivated to excel, some are just naturally more talented at being able to multitask as some of these more challenging pieces of content demand. Some don't have the same kind of drive as others and will cite an argument like "it's just a game" while ignoring though this may be fact, there are potentially 7 other individuals behind all of the pixels, who have invested their own time and have their own expectations. This argument is not a path to improving the situation.

This is not to say one should be unaccommodating and impatient with those learning. It's a two way street with those learning actually giving an effort to try to meet a baseline and improve upon that, while those in the know bringing up those willing to improve.

Tbh, I don't run into a lot that abandon quick when everyone is trying. The odd one sure, but mostly it is stuff like seeing the second oppressor spawn in A1N at 70% when everyone has ilvl 200 weapons. Or when people can't be bothered to dodge, or execute the simplest of mechanics even after acknowledging the mechanic.

Some of insta abandons I think stem from the same thing that drove Winterluna to create the, "Block people without clears" option for PF request. I stopped joining most PF a while back, because you almost always had people trying to sneak in for free clears, then leaving, causing the group to fall apart, or even not clear. People get sick of that, really sick of it. People lose paitence for those that can't be bothered to try, or for what they se as obvious mistakes, because in part, they have a lot of previous experience with that. I see a hell of a lot more people sneaking into farms than I ever see learning parties, and you don't need a clear to start a PF group.

Now for the above, I understand things are better on the Japan servers and you see much less of the above behaviour. This makes for a better community and enviroment.

It's not just elitest idiots who sour the community, it's also the entitled selfish sub-par who do. If there were more honesty and effort put in by people, you would see less of the OP issue.

I have to wonder from where does this notion that others are supposed to cook the meal for you comes from. If you want to eat, you need to catch a fish, gut the fish, roast the fish and then you can eat the fish.

Step 1. - Decide which content you want to do.
Step 2. - Create a learn party.
Step 3. - Find members.
Step 4. - Wipe for few hours or repeat step 3.
Step 5. - Tell your PF that you are going to wipe again the next day.
Step 6. - Repeat the process till you learn enough to clear.

Bonus step 1.5 - Read and watch guides.

Everybody can do this. Nobody is stopping no one.

there isnt a lot of learning parties going on because most people know what to do by now. most high lvls have been there done that; thats the norm, not brand new 60s.
