Guilty. I've shot off a bit early on occasions thinking everyone was back, when in actual fact I'd spaced out and not checked the minimap. It usually results in me cursing at my stupidity and then promptly slowing down!the "you should have read a guide/watched a video before you came" is ridiculous.
so many people no longer even have the common courtesy to wait for party members to arrive and get buffed..
to complain about the "subpar" players out there..you realize this attitude is exactly what contributes to a HUGE percentage of said "sub-par" players-the refusal to teach *anything*, just kick them? how will any of us newcomers learn?
if you want to do a speed run-find likeminded players and have fun.
but *somebody* out there HAS to have the kindness and patience, when asked, to assist a newcomer to whom this game is pretty darn intimidating! we cant learn it all by reading guides.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
To be fair, T9 is a cluster bump in the final phase that really does require absolute perfection. Anyway, I guess things are different on Hyperion, then. Before HW launched, a friend asked me to join a T13 clear (or was it farm?) party. Someone who needed the T9 win accidentally joined (before realising their mistake, they said they knew the mechanics and had seen Elementals) and then we decided "whatever, let's do T9" and eventually got the clear for two people. We were fine with it and even though it was very messy, we got the clear for two players (they carried their weight, which is all we really ask of a newbie). From where the community at Gilgamesh stands? People are afraid. Every time I see a 'prog' PF up for T9, EMPTY. Even with most progression groups these days, almost every PF says one thing. 'Please know the mechanics' or something like that. So if a guy who watched a video once and joined that group, he will hesitate to say he did so.
