PLD in expert roulete are great ._. .. They can agro everything and survive *-* just fine. Aoe party.actually once our healer afked and we did just fine thx to having a pld.

PLD is the best defensive tank. The guy in Aria's group was most likely mentioning the PLDs low dps and while it is true it also shows a significant design flaw within the game on how dps is highly regarded over anything else. This is what happens when dungeon/raid content is poorly constructed.

I did it in duty finder last month so yeah. Had all that and more. But last party I found when we cleared it was so good that they adjusted to any situation(marks) and we did it at first try with no echo.

Took 100+ tries for us before we managed to get a decent group with experience. I know the whole fight script(all titan skills by order) with my eyes closed thanks to that.

How is it a blind run when you want other people to explain the fight to you?

That's isn't what a blind run is. That's just called being selfish.

If you want to do a blind run, make a PF for it. Don't join a learning party and force 7 other people to do a blind run for you when it's not the collective goal of the group.

Also to the person who was complaining about Ravana EX. Clear groups are not learning parties. Clear groups are for people who already know the entire fight and have all the qualifications needed to clear. Aside from consolidating strats, there is no teaching in a clear party.

The only difference with the Japanese PF is people appropriately list learning groups for different phases of fights, join the appropriate learning phase, and actually learn and progress until they can finally clear.

From my time on NA servers, they also had PF listings of this nature. "T13 progression up until dive bombs," "Bismark EX weather phase progression," "Ravana EX Final Liberation onwards," and other similar listings were a thing in the past. I left Gilgamesh a few months ago so I can't comment on what state it's in anymore, but prior to leaving, it was already pretty bad. I can only imagine how much worse lower-pop servers are.

But, the biggest issue is that people join progression groups without the proper progression. They think "oh, I got to add-phase in A3S once so I guess that's my progression." No, it's not. They join clear groups while still lacking the mastery of mechanics needed to consistently clear. They join farm groups when they haven't cleared yet. And, when they get called out for their behavior, they don't apologize and leave. They have the trashiness needed to somehow blame others.

On JP servers, there are real consequences for being such a douche bag.

What type of residual effect does this have? It makes other people reluctant to list PF learning / progression groups because the same thing will happen to them. Some sack of garbage will join their group, wipe them, and waste everyone's time. And, when groups tighten their belts, check progression, and kick accordingly, they're toxic elitists. In the meanwhile, more and more people think that they can just ninja their way into a clear group and get carried so the value of real learning and progression is marginalized.

I'll share a short story of mine from my time on Gilgamesh that sums this situation up perfectly. I joined a T10 farm party, noticed an FC mate that we had only recently helped clear T9. "Wow, good for him. He's already progressed to T10 farm," I thought. I was wrong. We enter and the soldiery bonus pops up. We all ask who it is. I ask in FC chat if it's him and he says that it is, but he has full experience with the fight so I stay quiet. We wipe a few times because he (an SCH) couldn't do preys properly and messed up the heat lightning / tether / WC mechanics. We eventually clear but a few members leave after because they signed up for a farm party. Not a carry one person through and waste our time party. We end up disbanding.

A few minutes later, I'm back in PF checking for farms and I see that FC mate in PF. His PF listing? "T10 farm, no soldiery bonus."

It's not a coincidence that people say the NA servers are all about "fake it until you make it." The state of NA PF listings is the result of this mentality.

So now I'm on a JP server. I can actually join clear groups now with the intent of just helping and actually see the group clear rather than spend 30 minutes trying to explain the fight to a few people who have no business being there before the group eventually breaks down into a toxic pool of drama and feces throwing. It feels good being able to help people clear Bismark EX and Ravana EX again. It feels good helping people clear A1S and A2S when they're okay with 1 chest. It feels good knowing that my community is not composed of a bunch of self-entitled brats.

Doesn't anyone see the similarities between old school FF and the Alexander Raids? Like A4 for example, we have the big hulking stationary at one end, throwing special moves at us, the party at the other end. Granted, it is 2015 and we have to move around a bit, but I see nothing wrong with the content they gave us.Hell, A3 was such a mindexplosion to see a revamped Liquid Flame from FFV; complete with all three phases(keyword, revamped phases, we are talking a SNES game). I'm glad we have the hurdle that is SA3, I could care less that there is only 4 raid bosses with minimal trash(Thank the Twelve for that; trash is so passé, again 2015), I enjoy the community that we do have, at least on my NA server, and this is subjective but, who has time for 12 raid bosses, especially how SE makes each fight so intense? Really though, sure you bring up old games, and I'm sure 10 years ago, when I was in highschool/University hardly getting laid and really no responsibility outside eating, sleep ing and studying, I would've downed 12 bosses in some sort of organized static. Reality now? I'm a grown man with multiple real life responsibilities, a smoking hot gf and a daughter/dog to tend to, I don't have that kind of time, so really ppl if you don't like this format, go play something else, bc I play FFXIV because I can log in, grab a map, my GS scratchers, check my mail for anything ppl need me to craft, shoot the s**t with the fc, and run 1-2 pieces of content in under 2 hours a day.


TL;DR: I enjoy the game and community as is, sorry we are not as good as the Japanese servers, theoretically so does anyone still subbed. If you don't enjoy it as is, go play something else, better investment of your time and money.

I don't count Bombs because you can just tank it easily. They're usually not instant death. Just like how a tank can survive Final Sting most of the time.

I was only nitpicking and arguing semantics anyways. Most bombs tend to be single target regardless, but it's an effect that happens when not enough damage is dealt in a timely fashion.
