Uncap Big Fishing, Please!

Hey there! So... I've been spending the downtime before 3.1 doing my Big Fishing. Aaaaand... even with double the former maximum amount of Gathering and Perception one could have pre-3.0, I still find myself seeing countless Big Fish get away.

Could there be a possibility of improving the catch rates for these fish based on modern 3.0 stats? Thanks!

NOTE: I am not saying to improve the hooking rate of these fish. Just make them easier to catch when they ARE hooked. =D

Yeah, it is super frustrating!

I mean, I don't mind if it takes forever for a big fish to bite, but when it does bite, I want my current stats to give me a considerably higher shot at a fish.

Like... case and point, there is an infamous fish known as a Cupfish. Really ugly little thing. It only comes out 5PM-7PM Eorzea Time and it has a really low chance of being hooked and a really low chance of being caught. It's really annoying to catch. I've hooked it maybe... 6 times so far? And despite having 550 Gathering on my Fisher, it just goes away like nothing.

It's less of a nerf and more along the lines of trying to scale the catch rate reasonably to higher leveled fishers. It's always frustrating when a fish gets away. Especially when that same fish gets away 20 or 30 times.

Exactly! It makes no sense, there's really no difference from Lv50 to 60 with the Fisher class. There's like no progress at all and not worth it.

Pretty much this, I felt like the extra stats I got from leveling were pretty useless.

Patience has been a godsend, though.

You are better at your job, simply the fish are not dumb at all.
It allways have a chance to escape, no matter your stats.

The good and bad thing about fishing is that mostly dependent on RNG. It would be really boring and bad implemented if were allways sucess on everything, it then will loose all worth of be fisher.

If you dont like the RNG of the fish then do other things and let us enjoy to we that love the sick and wicked RNG

ALSO the quests where u give those rare and legendary big fish are completely optionals, you dont need do them to advance as fisher, so you only will get achievement when you do them, or rod.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect in a vertical-progression game like this one for content to get easier over time. This includes big fishing.
