When everything is out of date

I can afford to get it.

Just tried getting the crafted Galleymaster's Frying pan.

And I'm just being told to wait for this patch and that patch...

How are people supposed to get anywhere.

I'm tired of getting everything when it's been out months and has gone cheap enough to buy.

    Where's the balance?

This is why most people avoid MMO's. Clock watch in game for an unspoiled node, clock watch out of game for some miracle patch. You become a slave to the game.

You dont need the Galleymaster's Frying Pan. The i170 (Dyable) crafted gear/tools are meant to be created by the advanced crafters who have the skill and stats to complete them. These crafters have put in months/years of work, honing their rotations, learning the ins and outs of crafting as a whole.

SE incoporated 2 progression paths for crafters in HW. The Hardcore Route (GalleyMaster) and the Casual route (GalleyKeep). Rather than risking countless millions of gil on matts and materia to pentameld, SE intends casual crafters like yourself to instead purchase the i180 variants with RedScrips (3-4 weeks worth i believe) in order to avoid these costs.

You asked where is the balance? Perhaps you are asking the wrong question. You should be asking yourself which pool of players you fall under (Casual or Advanced) and then start your gear progression.

The answer is clear to me, as any Advanced crafter worth their salt wouldnt even be considering gearing their Culinarian until after all of their other classes. So that being said, cap your Weekly Crafting Red Scrips, Create a 550+ Collectibiliy Culinarian Counterfoil and then purchase i180 Culinarian gear to your hearts desire from the Vendors at Idlyshire.

Just because its there, doesnt mean your entitled to it. Put in the work, and you'll reap the rewards.

I'd say get it, I mean is there gonna be a new upgrade item for CUL in the next patch? as fare as I'm aware there isn't and if there was you most likely gonna need the current Frying pan to get the next one. So go for it.

I'm trying really hard to be the best I can be. I'm already making 1 star HQ food. But I also want the Crafted frying pan to go with my crafted Wrapped Adamantite Culinary Knife (HQ). I don't want it in six months, I can get the red script one by then.

I've only played this game for 10 - 11 months. I got Heavensward the same time as everyone else and I'm just playing catch up 24/7

You can try making the pan if you have multiple craft and gather classes at lv60, takes a while to get the materials, and craft classes need enough melds to meet minimum requirement for 2-star lv60 synth.

If you are looking at buying something, that suggests you are trying to get it off of the Marketboard. Checking your Lodestone profile reinforces this, as your Blacksmith level is very low and your Armorer level is also low.

TC, I'd take a long hard look at the differences between the HQ crafted i170 MH tool and the red scrip bought i180 tool, factoring in how you intend to meld. Then I'd get BSM to 50 and ARM to 60 before trying to make the frying pan, if you decide on the i170 tool.

Personally, unless and until Tier V Materia become readily available (as readily available as Tier IV Materia are now) I cannot see the i170 piece being better, but that is a decision you have to make for yourself, on a piece-by-piece basis.

Well if this is the case, It has an hardcore mode and a casual mode.

And I'm a casual gamer. I can't get the so called Hardcore Armor.

But I'm charged exactly the same as every single one of you, yet I'm not entitled to nothing because I'm a casual gamer. I play this game and I work as hard at is as anyone else. Why am I being peanalized for it?

Do you have all crafting classes at 60?
Do you have a Miner or BTN or Fisher at 60?
Do you own a set of HQ i150 Crafted Gear?
Do you own a set of HQ i150 Gathering Gear?
Did you invest millions of gil worth of materia to Pentamelded this gear to 2star requirements?
Do you cap Red Gathering Scrips every week with your BTN or Miner or FSH?
Have you been sacrificing these scrips every week at the expense of your gatherers gear progression to purchase crafing materials?
Have you been gathering favor matts at an avg of 3-5 hours per week since the launch of the patch?
Do you have a reliable 1star and 2star crafting rotation?
Do you have experience crafting 2star base materials?
Have you succesfully crafted any 2star item (NQ or HQ)?

If you answered NO to any of these questions then NO, you dont work as hard at is as anyone else because thats whats required of anyone thats even thinking of gearing their crafts with the advanced route.

You are not being penalized at all. You have a choice to pick either route depending on what suits you best. There are very minor differences stat wise between the 2 sets of gear (i170 vs. i180) however they both have COMPLETELY different time/gil investments. If you have Time/Gil and have answered Yes to all of the questions above, then whats stoping you from getting the gear that you want? The answer is nothing!

Sounds like your just upset that you cant have the Best gear because its too hard? You think your entitled to the Best gear cuz you pay the same amount of money per month as everyone else? Did i get that right?
