Lancer starting craft

Hey there, I've recently started playing and was wondering which crafting job would be best to start with to go along with lancer. I've leveled armorcraft and mining a bit already but from what I've read you can only start to make heavy armor later in the game.

In short, what would help me out the most to start with?

Well, the way I see it the primary benefit for leveling crafting was being able to repair cheaply and in the field. Now that camps offer repair services and quite cheaply, that benefit isn't nearly as great. That means right now you probably won't benefit much from crafting unless you use it to make the gear you actually use. The huge profit margins for version 1.19 gear have been steadily declining, though, so the monetary benefit from that perspective has diminished as well.

Still, every time SE implements new gear it sells for ridiculous prices at first and you get to rip off people who don't for one reason or another wait for prices to calm down. This lets crafters get their hands on the new gear affordably much sooner than non-crafters, though there is always the alternative cost of simply selling it for a huge profit instead.

In general, I don't think it really matter that much what craft you level up. You'll mainly be making money with it regardless, though crafts that make items of your class (in this case LNC) get the extra bonus of cheaper and more convenient repairs. This means armorer for armor, carpenter for most weapons and goldsmith for the jewelry are probably the "best" to level if you're looking for synergy with LNC.

I still have my goods sold daily, just that I priced them really competitive so I don't make much of a profit. Only got 5m since patch 1.19 release, but then again I'm lazy to craft >_> It's easy to make money, low level stuff does sell faster than high level stuff and people do really care about aesthetic, for example Cobalt Trident sells really quickly despite being lower than Hart Guisarme.

yes leveling Carpenter, Armorer and Leather Worker is one of the primary needed (Carpenter being the most primary)

I'd concentrate on levelling "hitting stuff with the pointy end". You can easily make more gil than you wil need just by doing some farming. All those crafters need mats and they pay well for them.

These. You will get plenty of gil from leves and killing things. But if you DO craft I suggest these, so you can use the materia system when the time comes ^^

also lower level characters will love you for crafting and putting up lower level gear on the wards since it is usually in short supply and optimal level actually means a lot now.

LWR doesn't make any LNC gear. Also, CRP only makes most LNC weapons, a minority of them are (or at least were) by GSM. ARM makes everything except your pants, weapon and jewelry, so technically it's the most "important" for LNC. GSM also makes the many accessory items but they tend to be much cheaper than other gear. Additionally, the benefits of wearing high level jewelry with high slots costs are everything but apparent to me.

I'm sort of mad that I lvled CRP first but thankfully Hart Guisarme is CRP based. ARM is definitely best first IMO.
