Okay, my baby archer just got this and I'm not sure when/how best to use it. I've been searching for this info but I keep getting no where. There are tons of angry threads but I can't seem to find any on the correct why to use it. Well, truth be told, I get contradictory info. I've been looking at the bards I've partied with and most seem to have WM on all the time. Is that what I should be doing?

At 60 yes. Up to that point if AoE yes if not see how best you can use it. It's kinda pointless outside of AoE until you get the 2 skills for it - Empyrial Arrow and Iron Jaws. After you get those two though it has a ton of benefit.

Yeah having it on almost all the time is good to boost your damage and some moves you get later can only be used while the song is in effect. The only times you switch it off are when movement is necessary and you can't catch a break to stay rooted down.

When you first get it you won't be using it as extensively as you would in end game. Right now you should be using it during aoe pulls to get that extra damage in. I wouldn't even suggest using it outside AOES when you get your Empyreal arrow at 54. I would wait until 56 and get Iron Jaws to really start using it!

well u could start training stance dance at 54 with EA... allthough you wont stance dance much in the endgame content, its fine to get used to it. Playing with MW up 99% of the time is a complete different way of playing BRDs imo... my BRDs life was like AAR yeah boing flip... > HW... bah MW will never use this crap... > Stance-what? ah okay... ill will give it a try... > getting used to stance dance... > noticing that there isnt any reason for "boing flip" or stance-dancing at all in 99% of the current endgame content xD

As people mentioned, it's ideal that you keep WM up once you get the skills attached to it. Before getting those skills, you won't necessarily do more dps (and lose some more-on-less depending on bloodletter procs) unless you're AoEing. You can keep it on after level 54 with empyreal arrow, making sure you use it ot the fullest extent to benefit from it. It's also important that you manage to use all your oGCDs (blunt arrow, repelling shot right after a cast, and flame arrow) to make the most use out of WM, otherwise you're losing overall damage from not having auto attacks.

Ideally, you want to use WM as much as posibble. Its a nice 30% dmg boost and enables a few abilitys you cannot use without it. Stancedance, well. There are so few moments in this game, where u really need to turn it off. Only because there is an aoe incoming doesnt mean you need to turn it off. You can walk between the global cooldown and get into position etc. You should morely focus on how to maximize the time u can spent in WM. So basically, to answer your question, yes. You should be on WM as much as you can.

So much right on this post.

No point stance dancing on BRD since your have shorter Dot timers and random blood letter procs. The potency increase on your dots and Blood Letter VS the loss of AA damage in itself is a gain even before you get the rest of your skills.
