This is in no way meant to be negative, but unfortunately Yoshi P has shot down the idea of introducing Viera as a playable race in XIV. If memory serves me, he stated that because we already have Miqo'te and, because Viera would not be very different than Miqo'te, he is not interested in adding Viera to the game. I find that somewhat disappointing. Not that I care to play as a Viera, but simply because there is such a huge demand for Viera to be a playable race.

Man that blows. Wonder what he thought when he made the Au Ra when the males look exactly like elezens with skin defects and an elongated spinal cord, while the females look like hyurs with the same physical conditions and took Japanese Culture classes and completely immigrated themselves. Idk, I think Yoshi just has some sort of bias against Vieras or something. oh wells :/ Best to someone to come up with they're own race now. Asking anything in the FF franchise could be disappointing at this point.
