Yes, this is a gripe post.

My main is PLD. I have to Savage as SCH. I'm starting to hate Lily.

"Macro the fairy!" they say. Macros break cast queues. If I cast in alignment with *my* GCD, not machine gun hammering of the keys, she doesn't cast *anything* every other GCD. This is particularly annoying when I'm trying to DPS, and considering how much I hate DPSing to begin with...

I work jewelry. Wire work. My joints hurt. Hammering that damn key hurts. Contorting my hand to hammer control + key bindings hurts.

Hmm. Not that the controls couldn't be improved, but as a practical workaround, I've found the Logitech Gaming Software (and I assume Razer and Corsair have equivalents) is very helpful in avoiding key spam issues. I use about 75ms autorepeat-- not sure what the exact cutoff is but 25ms is too fast.

I'm not sure exactly what is it you're having difficulties with, but if it's unresponsive pet abilties you could always try the following macro:

/pac steady <pet>
/pac Fey Wind <wait.1>
/pac obey

Basically if your pet is casting embrace, the above macro interrupts it ensuring you can get your pet ability executed asap. Then after 1 second you can remove the steady automatically to be used for your next action. I don't use macros as a SCH so there might be a better way to write that particular macro, but it works so it's a start. xD

Also, the main issue here sounds like you being forced to play SCH. If you main PLD, you should be playing it for your static. I have a raid and I always promote playing your favourite job, it's very important.

Edit: Or if you were just talking about her using embrace, it's on a 3 second CD as opposed to 2.5, hence why it can feel sluggish. I would say you can macro embrace to all of your DPS abilities (<tt>), but tbh when playing SCH I usually advise you use as few macros as possible the more you learn the job.

It *is* macroed to all abilities <tt>. Well, dps abilities. On heals its macroed to target.

I pretty much only want her casting on my tank. Let's me deal with other things.

And yes, kind of forced. They can't keep healers and the other one is AST. DRK/WAR tanks are solid. Seriously debating leveling WHM, but I'd still prefer not to heal and Esoteric tomes are a pain in the ass.

As both a career (xD) healer and career WHM... my advice is to not do it. If you don't enjoy it you'll just come to resent it, as with SCH now.

I'm using a generic shitty cheap keyboard so no key repeating.

I can't use gaming mice because my wrists are jacked and I use ergonomic mouse as a result. I need to figure something out by tonight though. Blech. Hate the fairy. That's why our AST isn't SCH(other healer was a WHM). He hates Lily too.

It's less that I hate healing, it's that I hate healing in this game. I've healed for a decade in others without any issue. The DPS requirement part really annoys the hell out of me and the fairy is adding to the frustration.

Understandable. Well, leveling WHM does do away with the fairy but, in a raid group, not with the DPS requirements. On second thought, it might be worth leveling WHM depending on exactly what your frustrations are and figuring our how many will carry over (aside from the 2 just mentioned)...

Keep in mind, your fairy autoheals at below 80% - so be sure you are not unneccessarily hammering the button when it's gonna heal anyway - it's faster than you are.
