Patch 3.1: What are you going to do first?

2. unlocking Ark and the dungeons during the exploration cooldown

I'm kind of nervous about first day Void Ark. I'll probably just do the MSQ and explore the islands with my FC first.

First day is best day for Ark. Nobody will expect anything from you (except dodging AoE fields, of course) ^^

Joined up shortly before the release of HW, this is going to be my first patch day! I'm very excited, needless to say. For the first day, my to-do list is:

1. Void Ark, first day everyone is going to be figuring stuff out still. Going into an instance with everyone as blind as I am should be fun!
2. Main Scenario Quest. Honestly, its a toss-up between these two to do first, since on one hand the suspense for the story is killing me, but on the other hand I'll want to get into Void Ark ASAP.
3. Lord of Verminion. Loved collecting and battling minions back in Warcraft, and while LoV is different, it will hopefully give me the kick I need to start seriously collecting minions.
4. They're removing the lockout on Alex NM loot, so I'm going to get any Prototype gear I won't have already for my main classes.
5....At which point I will try to find a group to tackle Thordan's Reign with. Should be fun!

My main priorites are Void Ark and the MSQ, then spending the next few days making sure I don't 'miss the boat' so to speak on clearing Thordan's Reign.

Actully, content is usually easier to clear on the first days, because the first days there's players more...Dedicated?

Yeah, for me it's been the exact opposite experience.

I refused to run Alexander enough times to get weekly loot for the first month or so because even if most people knew what to do, they were just not capable of execution. By the time most people were able to get esoterics weapons, things got significantly easier.

Priority 1: MSQ
Priority 2: Any new Side Stories.
Priority 3: Unlocking all content that weren't unlocked through Priorities 1 and 2.
Priority 4: Void Ark until I get my weekly drops.
Priority 5: Buy as much of the new stuff as possible from Gold Saucer.
Priority 6: Lords of Verminion
Priority 7: Thordan EX

Void Ark and most likely wipe constantly on the first boss until someone somewhere posts a guide online.

Absolute first thing I'm going to do is get on my Kirin and fly around the Heavensward areas. Then I'm gonna see about Void Ark, work on main scenario, do a little minion battling, and see where the new dungeons fall into my schedule. Can't wait!
