Throw your codex away and run... Run for your life and yell your despair ! XD

I love people who spam the chat saying that healer must do their job by healing the mt on star rank because they can't DPS
It's not like we are doing a heal poker with AST in the corner od the island...

The worst is fighting a Star rank... Barely keeping everyone fine...
And then rank 3, 4, and 5 Côme running and dancing on the battlefield... And then it's just an aoe party where you run more than you cast

The worse in diadem is that one guys.
That took every aoe damage, that aggro every add and then die. And you are like "RUN FOR YOU LIFE" cause 2/3 add is running at you.
And he will be like " Healer sucks, they don't heal me, learn to heal, you are bad blablablabla"

ANd, always that one guys, everybody is near the boss except him, taking damage on the other side and you need to go through all the aoe, the add, dodge everything to heal him.
Or he is playing hide and seek behing a tree and I can't heal him on time cause He think the tree will protect him from Meteor.

Personally I have issues sometimes with this. But only if the tank really sucks. I don't freak out, because honestly? If the tank decides he can't use his cool downs properly, he deserves to learn a lesson and die from not doing it right. You should have breathing room unless the mobs are 5+. Then if his HP is dropping low, you know its appropriate to use your cool downs in a pull. But most tanks think you should just heal them and have no mind to actually use cool downs or combos right. So it's not all just you, trust me. If the tanks HP is dropping over 3k in a small trash pull.. they are either under geared. Or have not put the time and effort into playing their class.

Leaving a good impression is better than making people feel like they can't do anything right.

The moment you stop worrying about what others may say in a berating mode, is the moment where you can truly relax and heal as it should, the moment you admit that nobody is perfect all make mistakes at times even dumb mistakes is when you will start healing the way it should and the moment you understand that others are just like you players not superior or inferior that is when you will be pulling your weight in a fight.

Remember also that mistakes do make you a better player, anyone saying otherwise know little about how experience is gained...so if you fail dont worry about it and take it as a learning curve rather then a problem and adjust...trust me it works...you will be then in the average healer section after that is a question of practice and good company and you will move up to top healer ....all this requires patience and time and more importantly, the understanding that NOBODY is behind your keyboard other then you and what others may think your job should play like doesnt mean you must necesseraly follow what they say...once this is anchored in the head ..healing becomes fun..LOL

lmao i tend to actually heal the other healer sometimes

spot on with the healing priority tho, always look after your own ass 1st.
if u have mobs on u dont run around like a headless chicken, run to the tank and he'll pick them up or just stand still and heal yourself and either the tank will taunt them or the other dps will pick them off

My most recent healing stress came from void ark. We were on the 3rd boss had the debuff stacks up, boss Aoe the raid and my group took a huge hit. Me and the other healer of course started fighting tooth nail too get everyone healed. Didn't help that everyone was spread across hell's half acre, nor did our tanks macro spamming us too heal in chat.

You hold the power of life and death in your hands, you are a god. Now tell me why a god would be stressed?

It's just experience really. I heal when I don't want to be stressed. It's the most relaxing role even in tense situations for me. That calm clarity when team mates are dying all around us makes us healers through and through. Either that or the scotch I'm drinking /shrug.

I have four points of advice.....

    1) Always put healing over DPSing. The exception is ONLY in heavy DPS checks where failure to put out enough damage would be a wipe, and even then it depends on how bad the party is before the check. Other than that, it's always a point to keep in mind that while you may increase DPS by stance dancing, you lose that increase and then some if the actual DPS players start dropping. I'm not claiming that you do this, just that I've seen healers forget this more often than not......

    2) Save swiftcast for reviving if you know/think a problematic moment may come up, or if you're not sure how things will go. Getting out a swiftcast heal or attack may help at times, but more than likely it won't be as beneficial as saving it for a situation where someone dies and needs to be brought back. The exception can usually be right at the start of a fight, because if someone dies in less than 1min, then you more than likely have bigger problems on your plate....

    3) Priority system as stated before. Priority should be, (in my opinion and if you discount DPS times), "yourself if tank above 50% health and you're below 80%">"Tank if below 80%">"Other healer, (in 8 player content), if tank above 80% and healer below 50%">"DPS if below 90%, (due to limited defenses and self healing)". Also, don't be afraid to use AoE healing. A few casts of an AoE heal may cost more, but if you're positioned right it can keep you from having to worry about the priority system....

    4) Don't over think it. If you go to cast something, then let it follow through. Even if it's not the best healing spell for the situation, it is still healing, and you'll lose out on time if an emergency occurs and you try to cancel a spell to cast something else. Once you play healer enough, you'll reach a point where your hands will "know" which spell to cast before your brain does. Instinct can save more fights than anything.....

Also, never forget that it's just a game. If you mess up when healing, don't worry too much about it. A wipe may not be ideal, but it's not the end of the world by any means.....

I'd just like to expland on what people have said about healing yourself before the tank. Yes, you should always make sure you are alive first and foremost, BUT if you won't be taking (unavoidable) damage then there really is no need to heal yourself. Granted you can always try and be safe and heal yourself regardless, but I personally try to push myself to as low as I can go before I have to heal myself. Once you understand how a fight works you can generally judge if something will kill you or not at X amount of HP.

    I think healing is not for those who panick easily ^^;;;

That being said... work a priority list. Tank and yourself 1st. If in a 8 man, and tank isn't dying yet, I'll res the other healer if I have enough a comfortable range of MP to keep tank alive while the other ressed healer gets himself back up. Remember to pop your MP recovery abilities if your MP is hitting low before a stressful phase. I always tend to top mine off around 60% or so.

One of the best advice I've ever gotten is: to party random people instead of sticking to a set group of friends. This opens you up to broadening your healing experience with a wide variety of people and playing styles, so you can easily adapt when encountering the same again. If nothing, screwups only give you experience to work out how you can best deal with them, and refine your strategy, so when it happens again, you're more prepared.

You will get some nasty words and blame from time to time, but if you've done your best and the fault truly doesn't lie with you ie: party ignores mechanics, don't take the words to heart. Above all, each mistake is a learning chance to do better next time. Confidence will come with practice, so keep at it! ^_^
