    Would Clemency by OP as insta cast?

    Hey there. I would like to ask if you would consider instant Clemency to be overpowered?

    Imo the main problem with this skill is the cast time. Be it the fact that mobs are hitting your face, or be it the annoying length of it. I would really like to use this skill more often, but stoneskin is usually better option, because most of the time before I heal somebody that person had been already healed by the healers... so much wasted MP for nothing is definitely not enjoyable experience.

    I wouldn't even mind if the skill had short CD to compensate for the insta cast.

    TBH not really considering the extremely high mp cost only let's us cast twice before we're low on mp. Not to mention we have other abilities and spells that utilize mp so we can't just spam it.

    I think that the casting animation is cool I'd personally like it to remain. But they should lower it to 1 or 1.5sec so that it would be faster than a healer's cure and would actually work as an emergency healing tool. It would also render it more difficult to interrupt and make the PLD able to fit an oGCD right after the spell without clipping the next GCD (like Bards can do with WM on). They also should add a Surecast effect on Tempered Will (would fit the name and make this CD more useful). They could also add a regen effect to Clemency that applies to the PLD when used so that it helps healers over time. But insta cast I'd feel that it would be too sad to delete the casting animation, it feels like an actual Paladin casting a holy spell and that's a good thing for "player fantasy" like Sapphidia would say.

    I ogree. I'd like it to be 1) as fast as healer heals so I don't just get beaten every time and maybe 2) immune to interrupts in shield oath at least. Maybe lower the cast time to like 1s in sword oath as well. There's still the whole opportunity cost of lost autos, lost GCD time, and broken combos. However, the casting animation is too rad to get rid of. They had that shit in the old limit break trailer before 2.0 came out but then we never got a spell to cast.

    From a healer perspective, yes it would be OP.

    To be fair, I can understand where you're coming from. You've got a skill that you make sacrifices to use and its only semi reliable. But look at it from the healers point of view. We dps because there usually isn't enough to heal to begin with. We have limited accessibility to saves in the event that we, or the person we're healing, makes a big mistake. If clemency was instant, it could function as another save, substantially lowering the skill requirements for healers. Being instant also guarantees the cast and encourages the use of the skill, meaning that in less difficult content, there would be less stance dancing and less healing for healers to perform.

    It would be OP, because it steps too far into the healer role.

    I'm a bit split on it yet.

    On the one hand, it should not be interruptible. Period. Making a tank's recovery skill interruptible was a terrible design choice. I don't care what hoops we gotta jump through to make it non-interruptible but it's powerful enough that getting interrupted could mean a wipe.

    On the other, making it INSTANT with no strings attached would make it too much like equilibrium. I've been thinking a 1.5s cast time would be appropriate. Like Forbidden Chakra or Esuna. I've never heard of an Esuna being interrupted. Other ideas i've seen thrown around are giving it an instant cast PROC, which i could totally get behind. Ideally, both.

    I mean, given the choice between being instant cast and staying as it is, instant cast all the way, yes. It wouldn't even be close to OP, because 1. You can only do it twice anyway, and 2. you're still dealing with a GCD.

    From a healer perspective myself, I personally would love it. Also Paladins don't get enough opportunity to use their mana more which would increase the depth of the class itself.

    I think if it couldn't be interrupted with a 1-1.5 second cast time or a instant cast would be fine.

    Well in its current form its useless and never used. If it was instant cast could actually use it.

    I think the best solution I've heard for Clemency is to change it to a super long duration HoT.

    First, it helps PLD's aggro issues. You cast it on yourself and maybe 1~2 other people before the pull and the initial aggro feed from the HoT would help PLDs solidify early aggro.

    Second, it fixes the tendency to over heal. A portion of it will still over heal but it won't be as hit or miss. Being a HoT will also make it easier for healers to gauge how they should adjust their own healing around Clemency.

    Third, from a design PoV, it helps differentiate PLD healing from WAR's Equilibrium. Rather than just being another huge heal, it gives PLDs unique healing utility from the tank role.
