Well AST have 2 DoTs that also cannot miss, so apply those and use Malefic 2 or Gravity (AoE). You have to be a lot more careful with MP though as you only really have one MP regen. With healing and card buffs to take care off, your window for DPSing is a lot smaller anyway. But at least in return you can buff DPS for the entire raid.

Yes, they should, but since it can miss and it has the same potency as Malefic II, you want to do it only because it's MP efficient, so it's only relevant for things like Savage.
