SCH and WHM dpsing needs more coordination than it seems at 1st so its easier to lose a bit of dps of having 2 healers dpsing and just tell the WHM to solo heal instead of trying to come up with a real time raid coordination. So I main WHM an I love to stance dance but recently got in a group and SCH was ranting on how I should only heal and that SCH makes the only good DPS anyways I am a bit curiouse why SCH are preferred is it bc the pet or is the another facter I usually aply my HOTs on tank than burn down mobs or enemy than burst heal when needed in some cases I out DPS some of the DPS jobs. I do understand that Astro are prefered to be mandatory healer.(having a bit trouble dps as a Astro). It just seems like in the expansion the skills that we learn are focused to change the roles a bit. Example SCH new skills are all about healing mean while WHM learned new HoTs and DPS skill.

Pretty much this. SCH only has a80170 Potency attack (RuinBroil) once their dots are set up. So ideally you would have WHM and SCH alternate since WHM has a 210 Potency attack once their DoTs are placed.
WHM does need more accuracy ~+76 if you have a Bard who can use RoD occasionally.

WHM is better as DPS only in the very niche scenario in which you have a very tight and short dps check: PoM + Stone III spam...but still, if the SCH has full AF stack broil+energy drain is pretty close.
Are you sure? I just checked and it should be 200 potency for both...but the fact that aero is instant and costs less mp is reason enough to have it on my hotbar.
Yes, it is influenced by spell speed on a per cast basis vs a per time only basis as malefic.

Small difference but still better.

It's a holdover from ARR. With Heavensward WHM can really put out some pretty good DPS, at times well over what SCH can do.
SCH still have some advantages. Accuracy, as others have noted. In a2s, I would say SCH is stronger than WHM for DPS. In a3s, WHM is capable of higher DPS than SCH. Etc.
WHM got allot of DPS love this expansion. Scholars got Broil to help them keep up with the other healers, but had their entire DPS kit back at 50.
Assize: 300 Potency AOE with no damage penalty. It doesn't get much sexier than this.
Aero III: BEAUTIFUL? Its almost 2 Holys without the penalty. (370 potency)
Stone III: The basic attack at 60, that deals more than Aero by itself. @.@
(Fluid Aura also became much more acceptable, since very few things knockback at this cap)
Overall, HW gave Scholars more healing options, becoming more independent for healing abilities from their pet/arcanist roots, while giving WHM a little more to do than just Aero II, Aero, Spam Stone II.

For a2s, Whm can BURST dps and he is really awesome. Holy/swiftcast holy/Assize + aero3 and that's all, you did mass damage and you can return to heal your tank.
And fluid Aura, you can push the bomb :P.

I can assure you on A2S a SCH who DoT a mob with 5 stack of vulnerabily, then bane and cast shadow flare can make the whm go to sleep... (The smn will be far much more stronger but well...)
Because outside assize and aero III... What are the whm aoe tool (that don't burn his mana like hell)
