    Introduction of Townships

    Since the Calamity there has been an ongoing refugee crisis within the members of the Eorzean alliance. People who have lost everything as their homes were destroyed by the resurgent beast tribes or have had to flee from the ever present threat of the Garlean Empire. Nowhere is this more keenly felt than the city of Ul'dah, with the victims of this crisis lining the streets and overflowing the confines of the city into surrounding regugee camps. It is outside of the power of the members of the Eorzean alliance to help these people, and so far, the Warrior of Light, whilst saving the realm multiple times, has done little to actually help the people need. A hero, a diplomat, able to master all trades of both the hand and land, owner of exorbitant housing and untold riches. What kind of hero spends millions of gil on a mere minion before doing what they can for the people of the realm?

    Having brought the nation of Ishgard back into the arms of the Eorzean alliance, the leaders of the three Grand Companies and the Lord Commander of the Temple Knights have agreed to allow the Warrior of Light to start a township in the nation of his/her choosing.

    ===========================================

    The basic idea behind this is a player owned town that could act as a potential time / gil sink. It could be grown through a questline, something as extensive as the original relic weapon quest line for example. The people who make up the town could be victims of the Garleans (Domans, Ala Mhigans etc) or those people who are unhappy with their homeland (dissillusioned Ishgardians, unlucky Ul'dahns etc) and even members of the beast tribes that know of your deeds and wish to cooperate with the 6 "primary" races. Rewards could be anything from cosmetic gear to new crafting recipes. It also holds potential for continued growth through patch after patch so that it remains relevant.

    Psst, edit your post to bypass the 1000 character limit.

    But anyways, I've seen some stuff like this in single player games before, but I dunno how it'd be in an online game. It's interesting to be sure, but I dunno if it'd be enough to get a lot of people to work on it, more so those people who have issues getting gil in the first place.

    Given SE is already having trouble adding new housing wards to the game, despite people begging for it, I have some doubts such would be feasible... but the idea is great!
