If SMN get pet glamour system, what is the pet that SCH should use?

I like my fairy just fine. I really don't think it makes sense in lore for SCH to have glamour over Lily. It makes a lot more sense for summoner as you're meant to summon primal-egis

The only thing I would ever want back is Carbi.

Dunno about the lore, but in terms of glamouring the SCH fairies, the Bard-Moogle and White-Mage Moogle from the Moogle Guard around King Moogle Mog XIII come to mind^^

Moogles would be lore breaking as 'pets' for SCH. Carbuncles might work though.

Its actually perfectly fine lore wise for SMNs to get new versions of their Egis. They already meet the basic requirements to summon those egis apart from a matter of personal Aether.

Fairies on the other hand seem to be advanced, sentient magical constructs in a way similar to Carbuncles. This is why SCHs are able to interact with their Fairies the way they can. That makes available glamours for them limited lore wise. Moogles and tonberries don't fit because both are living flesh and blood creatures.

I was kind of hoping for something more along the lines of having the option to customise the colour of our fairies (and maybe hairstyles, but mostly colours). I'd love that, though also understand why that might be wishful thinking. I too miss my carbys very much. I don't see why it couldn't work to use them for healing to be honest, and could see there being some sort of cute quest to unlock the option or something. I could easily see the job evolving in this way given that we all started as arcanists.

To me fairies are glorified carbuncles imbued with a kind nature and a desire to protect and mend. It's physical form is just a preference. ... but Lilly is strange. We don't create her like SMN/acn do. We call her, since we did find her, but was she created or did she exist before the first scholar?

If she existed before scholars, a glamour system would make less sense, unless you rationalize that lilly will take on the physical form that pleases you.

If scholars made her at some point, it could be just as easily rationalized as SMN / ACN.

Am I the only one who just can't get enthusiastic about pet glamors? I'm a glamor-crazed nut when it comes to outfits, and I'll literally glamor everything, no matter how low level the gear. But if all these glamors are is just a reskin, then it would just feel like a cheap way to shoehorn in avatars for no good reason. After all, they'll still have the exact same skills, so nothing would really change.

More than anything, I wanted to be able to rely more on my pet when Heavensward came out. Instead we have even less of a pet focus than before. Hell, just get rid of the summons and beef up our basic attacks. It would work out better.

The glamour system is better because even if we have 12 egis to choose from, the max DPS lifestyle that this game is built around will dictate we always use the same one.
