These hacks have circulated a lot on Excalibur.

I've been shown screenshots of peoples cameras zoomed out 20 times farther than normal so they could dodge T13 dive bombs. I've watched nodes be mined like a machinegun with no players within visible range. I've seen people perma-sprint and sprint multiple times faster than normal inside their "private" homes (knowing they'd be banned if used in public.) Who knows how many people get banned for using them; but they certainly exists.

All of this makes me sad. This game is so infested with players using game-breaking addons to get an unfair advantage over legitimate players, people automating Fate leveling and gathering with bot programs, people buying RMT gil. I've come across players in all of those categories, some of them are people on my friends list, and none of them have been banned or punished in some way. Are all mmos like this?

Yes, all of them.
I don't mind botting, I just mind my business. Unless they come and kill my target, then that's personal.

One way or another, yes.
I used to see speed/invincibility/flying/etc hacks all the time in an MMOTPS, Gunz Online >.> It was annoying when you're using skill vs players using cheats (best part was killing the players using cheats because they sucked that bad regardless).
Almost every MMO has or had bots, RMT, exploits and other stuff of this nature...
