Speedhack?

I was in a fate party today and I noticed a player was running to all the fates while everyone else was mounted and he would run faster than us?

If he then got on his mount he would easily get way ahead of us within a few seconds, pretty much a walking pace for us and running speed for him.

He was on a bard and didn't have swift song or sprint activated, besides they wouldn't be active when he was mounted anyway?

Anyone else seen this?

not uncommon actually ppl like hacking mmo to get an advantatge report it, blist and move on.

I've seen this once before in Northern Thanalan. It was like someone's character was customized to become The Flash. I'd report him/her. I did when I saw the person on my server.

He might be using cutting edge PC versus your old rig, if anything.

I have a mid PC now, I just bought an Alienware Lappy to my GF, and then we see the differences, where i'm slower than her on her side, and I see myself in front of her on my Monitor.

She played on airbook MAC before, and even when sprinting, I showed her that she was walking slwoer than me on my Monitor. (please do not attempt Titan)

Could be lag, latency, your GTG Monitor response time, etc..

Or he crossbred a Chocobo that won many cups for his speed?

Yes, I've seen it happen on Ragnarok @ Northen Thanalan with other FATE botters.

I actually followed this person for a while because I couldn't believe it first but even with my head start to next FATE he/she beat me to it. If I remember correctly person was using chocobo. I reported after I was certain my eyes aren't lying.

Actually, people have been reporting "speed hackers" in Seal Rock(PvP) recently.

I've seen bots teleport between nodes. It's not a far stretch to believe they can speed hack too.

These hacks have circulated a lot on Excalibur.

I've been shown screenshots of peoples cameras zoomed out 20 times farther than normal so they could dodge T13 dive bombs. I've watched nodes be mined like a machinegun with no players within visible range. I've seen people perma-sprint and sprint multiple times faster than normal inside their "private" homes (knowing they'd be banned if used in public.) Who knows how many people get banned for using them; but they certainly exists.

All of this makes me sad. This game is so infested with players using game-breaking addons to get an unfair advantage over legitimate players, people automating Fate leveling and gathering with bot programs, people buying RMT gil. I've come across players in all of those categories, some of them are people on my friends list, and none of them have been banned or punished in some way. Are all mmos like this?

Yes, all of them.
I don't mind botting, I just mind my business. Unless they come and kill my target, then that's personal.
