It be a waste of resources to introduce new quest during patches that required you to have x job leveled in order to enjoy. Not every story is going to be interesting but at the same time is every story going to be interesting if it's the same thing? By this I mean, let's just say Evil Ascian's are involved in all 50+ job quest, and each job has to overcome them and defeat them, that would get boring after a while don't you think? I think the way job quest now are fine, they all have their own story which can develop the lore around them and to add quest past the 3.0 introduction would only create less content as a whole because now the Devs would have to use their sidequest resources to create unique job quest which in turn would mean less sidequest to do unless you have x class at 60 which would discourage a lot of people to be left out of content like that.

I think something like this would add some much needed depth to the game, which is far from a waste of resources IMO...

There's also the fact that it could arguably keep people playing longer... If you just have a side quest series, like Hildibrand, that everyone can quickly and readily finish up, it has a short shelf life. Something locked behind Classes and Jobs though? That has a long shelf life. Someone who hasn't leveled Monk might miss out on that content, but in the end that just becomes another thing they could do, they only miss out on it until they level Monk. It's another piece of content that makes the game seem vaster and more engrossing. Rather than going "I'm bored of tomestone grinding" and dropping their subscription until the next patch, people could instead go "I'm bored of tomestone grinding" and go aim to do the content locked behind the Classes they haven't done yet. If just a handful of people do that because of such content, then I'd say it is well worth the time and effort it would take to implement.

It could be something different. They don't have to keep using Ascians. There are plenty of characters to dwell into. I'd love to see some more of the Rogue's guild. Hell they don't even need to cut scene so much - I'm good with even mostly text based. Like Hildebrant it wasn't necessary to do them but almost everyone did.
