Please change achievement "Hounding the Rock"

I would like to ask that achievements such as "Hounding the Rock" be changed.

I cannot begin to count the number of times I have clicked on a node only to see the "interrupted" text because I have a higher latency than someone else and they are able to activate the node faster than me. Not only will the node appear on their screen before me but the delay in the server registering my request to activate the tomelith is enough for someone else with no latency issues to get their activation off before me.

I would like to request that achievements such as "Hounding the Rock" be changed to a party wide count, whereby if someone in your party activates the tomelith, everyone in the party gets the credit. This would not only help with the current issue with latency affecting nodes but it also would encourage further party orientated planning and teamwork rather than every man for himself like it is now

As I stand looking out from my window, I reminisce about the old days and the many ups and downs of my adventures throughout Eorzea.
It is then that I know achievement.

It's really not that bad. I've already gotten 500+ more caps, probably close to around 1000 now. You just have to be in the right place at the right time when it spawns. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't.

Also, that would make the achievement way too easy to get, imo. The achievement itself already isn't 'difficult' to do. You just cap a node.

I wish they'd add more in.

yup terrible for us people with bad internet, but I'm more bothered by the teammates that see me trying to cap, they also join in and try to cap while a single enemy comes and aoe's us both till their party shows up and we miss node entirerly.

That's the problem with making what should be a team objective into a personal achievement. Usually when that happens, I'm the one that has to break off and engage the enemy for the good of the team, and that's stupid. The person who ignores their team is the one that gets rewarded.

That said, I've already got the Keeper of Knowledge title, and my caps are still growing. Here's a couple of Pro Tips for racking up the caps:

At the start of the match, head to the least popular node for that spawn (for example, few people usually go to the southern most point when spawning at the beach), park in front of the node and get off your mount. The extra half a second it takes to get off the mount can make the difference between you capping it and the guy next to you capping.

Pay attention to active node percentages. When they get low, run to a new node (or stay on the current one in case it spawns again). Always be near a potential node so you can get it right away if it activates (within reason, of course, don't abandon your team if they are in a pinch for your capping lust).

If you are attacking an enemy node, do not be afraid to go right up to the point and uncap/recap it. I can't tell you the number of times I've ran right through the enemy lines and uncapped and recapped their nodes right in front of them while they're busy attacking my allies. Obviously you'll need to know when to bug out if you try this. If they do notice you, you'll need to get out quick.

Related to the last one, if you go to an enemy node that only has one or two defenders, do not attack them. Just run up to the node (preferably from behind the enemy), and uncap and recap it. In my experience, those lone defenders tend to be AFK, or at least not paying attention, and you can cap the node before they even realize you're there. It's much, much easier to cap a node and then keep the enemy from taking it back than it is to kill someone (or multiple people) and then take the node.

Way too often I will be already sitting at a node., waiting to see if it will pop and some other person from my team runs up and stands next to the very same node and 9 times out of 10 will outclaim it from me because australian latency can kiss my arse...

My favorite is when that person who gets it already has the keeper of knowledge title and claims it anyway :S

I don't really care about this achievement. I actually kind of hate it.

Too many people are concerned with getting it. They spread out before new node spawns (often WAY too far from the team), thereby weakening our overall fighting force for the next fight and costing the team precious time to regroup if we're getting attacked, or they get themselves killed outright because they're alone on the other side of the map. Also, this stupid achievement encourages people to compete for claiming a node. So, I've see players run off to go cap a node while the team is in the middle of a fight. Only one person can cap it, but ten people go for it. That's stupid, especially when there's already a re-spawned teammate or a node camper there. 10 guys just ran off to cap a node that will be up before they even get there, and they cost the team points because they left their teammates to die, all for what? A stupid title. Absolute silliness.

They did the same thing with the Nodes.

This, and the other quote, is the reason why I support the OP. the PvP should be GC vs GC, not Teammate vs. Teammate. If the achievements counted the party then it would mena thet they cna focus on defending their existing nodes instead of spreading themselves thin trying to get them

I have that achievement. To all else who got it: Don't cap if others obviously wants to cap. But don't hesitate if noone else is around of course. Thats a non-brainer.

the first few people that had this achievement were always healers, ironic really the first person to leave a group to chase a stupid title was the only one who could keep people alive.

Even funnier as these were the same people that would scream and shout in chat about how crap everyone was.

Im about half way from this achievement despite playing what 800 games of seize? why because im actively trying to help my team defend from an onslaught or pushing an enemy node instead double backing on myself to fight another alliance member for node securement

Healers are generally in better position to try and sneak in a capture than the other players on your team, because there are times when there's no healing required. If a healer and a couple of DPS walk up to a node, the DPS should be focused on killing any enemies around while the healer (who you brought in case there [b]was[/]b resistance) caps.

The thing they really need to do is make Neutralizes count, because neutralizing is just as important, but also way more difficult to do because of enemy presence. That would more double the opportunities players have to progress on the achievement per game.
