    Yes another suggestion on how to properly do the new egi.

    So I have come up with the following solution. Yes this would mean that summon would be getting a few extra spells but really what we have now is only about half way to what the summoner should be in this game. Not to mention summoner currently has 2 incomplete system that we use to play our class, would be nice to have at least 1 complete system to play with. Anyway back to my suggestion.

    For arcanist Replace Summon 1, Summon 2, and Summon 3 with the following:

    Wind Summon: Wind Spirit
    Earth Summon: Earth Spirit
    Fire Summon: Fire Spirit
    Water Summon: Water Spirit
    Thunder Summon: Lightning Spirit
    Ice Summon: Ice Spirit
    Light/Law Summon: Light Spirit
    Dark/Chaos Summon: Dark Spirit

    When the Summon job crystal is used they become the following:

    Wind Summon: Choice of summoning Sapphire Carbuncle, Garuda, Bismark, etc
    Earth Summon: Choice of summoning Topaz Carbuncle, Titan, etc
    Fire Summon: Choice of summoning Ruby Carbuncle, Ifrit, Ravana, Belias, Enkindu, etc
    Water Summon: Choice of summoning Aquamarine Carbuncle, Leviathan, Valefor, etc
    Thunder Summon: Choice of summoning Amethyst Carbuncle, Ramuh, etc
    Ice Summon: Choice of summoning Turquoise Carbuncle, Shiva, etc
    Light/Law Summon: Choice of summoning Radiant Carbuncle, Phoenix, Alexander, King Thordan, etc
    Dark/Chaos Summon: Choice of summoning Ebony Carbuncle, Diablos, Odin, Bahamut, Zodiarc, etc

    For Scholar the following(WIP):

    Wind Summon: Eos, Siren
    Earth Summon: Selene
    Fire Summon: Nyph
    Water Summon:
    Thunder Summon:
    Ice Summon:
    Light/Law Summon:
    Dark/Chaos Summon: Imp

    These would take up each a single action bar slot and when left clicked would summon the selected spirit, egi, or fairy, when right clicked it would open a roll out menu that would allow you to select which summon to to have access too.

    This would essentially have the same effect as just changing the skin for the egi with the exception that it would not require the player to have to apply some sort of glamour item to change the appearance of the egi.

    The final modification of this would tie in the new trance system for summoner. This change would link the attack ability to what ever primal egi is being used at the time. As an addition all the current summoner attack spells are non-elemental while in trance for a specific primal like Ifrit all the spells that don't have an elemental attribute would pick up that primal's attribute in the case of Ifrit fire. Which would lore wise explain the 10% increase in damage gained while in trance.

    Update 10/27/15: Someone mentioned that with the increase in the number of summon spells people using a game-pad would not have enough action bar space. As it stands implementing my suggestion as it would only add 5 more spells to the action bar and as far as i can tell this would not cause any issues unless you have your cross bars full of macros for controlling your egi's actions directly. I may be wrong so if someone that plays on the PS would see if they would have room and let me know that would be great.

    Who said it would require a glamour prism or item of any kind? Have any proof of this? I say this, because I haven't heard much about this topic outside of the "We'll look into letting you glam egi's" or something along those lines.

    This is an interesting suggestion, but what you're asking for is to much. This would be a complete overhaul to what summoner is, and frankly, you need to look at the big picture. Balance is key, and adding a bunch of stuff that may add new spells or skills, would be game changing. While I would also like to see more egi's or summons, I feel like we need to let them find their own ideas on how to make summoner, a real summoner. I don't feel Yoshi has let us down yet, and you need to have some faith. Also remember this might be a "Final Fantasy" Game, but it doesn't have to mimic any old title whats-so-ever. It uses a lot of themes and references, and if you don't compare it to anything else from the franchise (which I know can be difficult) it becomes a lot easier to deal with.

    I just want to say that is a crap load of buttons for summoner and scholar. Seriously, most arcanists are already strapped for buttons (because you have to keybind buttons to control your pets), so adding another row of keys just for summons sounds awful.

    Also, will each of these elemental summons be different? What roles would they have? I just don't see how any of these summon names you vomited out would remove the existing problem of summons (except giving us glamour options, some of which make sense in the lore and others that don't). What role would the other 5 summons do? We already have a tank (which we don't use in parties), a melee (very niche use in certain fights where damage reflection is useful), and caster (the default summon). I guess we could add a healer one (just in case we need half-a-scholar or for solo, sure) and a ranged dps (not sure what this would do differently other than to say the SMN can summon anything), but that still leaves 3 other roles I don't see the need for.

    Also, what do you think a summoner should be? To me, the summoner is currently a mage who is turning in to Bahamut or something close to a flesh-and-blood Ultima Weapon (they use and summon various aspects of the primals and use their attacks) in addition to their own. And you know, this makes much more sense to me than someone who becomes a primal or creates a primal (considering the lore surrounding them and Allag).

    Ok let me ask you what do you think a summoner should be. have you not played any other Final Fantasy Summoners are not meant to have many attacks of their own they are supposed to be able to summon celestial beings or what ever you want to call them and use them to attack, buff, or heal. The mechanics of XIV will not allow for having multiple summons as fire does not heal Ifrit and wind does not heal Garuda. Which I do not agree with.

    What are SMNs in XIV? Mages with the ability to transmute a portion of a Primal's essence into a controllable entity (Egis). In the event that the Primal is too powerful to do this, they can channel this power into themselves, granting access to said Primal's signature abilties.

    Any suggestions on SMN changes should be taking the above into account. Adding new Egi is a waste from a gameplay perspective, which is why SE added another way lore-wise SMNs use their power (i.e. DWT). If anything they should just remove Summon III and replace it with something else. They had it right with ACN: one pet for tanking/solo stuff, and the other for dps/group content. Adding a second DPS pet just created more problems, especially when it's skill set has no interaction with SMNs main source of damage (DoTs) like the Caster pet has, with Contagion/Shining Emerald.

    Ok so two things, why are you adding more elements when there are only 6 main elemental crystals/elements in game, and the 'light and dark' spells are too few that are actually in the game (Most of which are used by the evil guys) while we basically just have holy (Which has always been non-elemental damage in the FF series), and have no resistance/stat of their own

    And why would a Scholar get a 'dark' elemental summon?

    Hell, why on earth would King Thordan be a 'summon' as well?

    This doesn't seem like it'd be balanced at all

    As a controller Sch/Smn, this is going to cause hell, and this is very unbalanced, I already struggle to fit all my buttons on 3 cross bars (meaning, cycling 3 times) even with macros...
