While you are very right in what you say here, that is why they have a minimum spec that you have to meet on the PC. And the minimum spec is a lot beefier than what the PS3 can manage. If they dropped PS3 support they would have four times the amount of memory at their disposal. Have you seen all the threads on here asking for more inventory space only to be told that it is not possible because of memory constraints? Where do you think those constraints are coming from? Dropping PS3 support would not only allow the graphics to improve, but we would likely see lots more features implemented when they have more memory to work with.

I'm not advocating that we return to the time of 1.0's graphics (whilst pretty, they were terribly optimised). But I do think that the graphics can be improved from where we are now with little more 'horsepower' required. Hell, HD texture packs would be a welcome start. Yes it does suck for people on PS3 who would have to upgrade their console (or switch to PC); but this is why they had the free upgrade scheme running for such a long time.
