Yeah, like we need animation lock back. "Animation lock?" Oh, you don't know? In 1.0 animations would lock you in place while you performed whatever action you were doing, this was especially bad for Dragoons. It's what spurred XIV's own loldrg meme because it'd sometimes get them beaten up pretty badly, if not outright killed. They still died to stuff in 2.0 but that was more lag than animation lock.

This thread. AGAIN!?

While the PS4 is hardly impressive, it does measure at roughly a bench mark of what many gamers have in terms of graphical power. They aren't going to push FFXIV beyond that when they simply isn't a market for high end enthusiasts. Now the PS3 on the other hand...

ARR could look better as it stands if they didn't keep taking shortcuts on the environments. Dropping consoles will do nothing to address this since it's a time vs. budget affair. The texture tiling in this game is rather poor, and made doubly more obvious in the zones you can fly in.
Outside of low resolution hair textures (why doesn't the PC Client have access to higher ones? There shouldn't be aliasing baked into the hair texture), the game looks fine enough as it is, more-so with the DX11-exclusive eye candy on that neither console has access to.
1.X animations would look silly with ARR's combat engine unless you want their animation speeding up to halt on a dime. 1.X had atrocious input latency with regards to it actually moving/stopping your character to boot, and it wasn't because of intertia.
Graphics-wise, my primary complaint is all the low-res textures. >_< Would be really nice if SE could release a high-resolution texture pack for PCs at the very least.

While not a high texture pack per se, this may be something you'd want to look into: http://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy14/?
