Thanks for that reply!
It's refreshing, not bashful, and you are right.
Player
That's exactly it! /applause
People complain this game is too solo.. but they don't team up lol
I play all jobs, lvling them up and so I know when it's a long wait for DPS.. so the rage the other guy had as well when the Tank left.. sigh.
And my bad, it was the long Vigil one. Can't edit Hard mode >.<
Yup ^^i actually feel the penalty should be increase
no offense but, in my experience ppl who drop out at the very beginning of dungeon, over 70% are the tank role
with instant queue for tank, and long queue time for DPS and healer
it just like using his/her own 30min to troll other ppl
yes, the other 3 dont have the penalty, but requeuing could take as long as 30 min or more in some dungeon
That was my point I wanted to make, maybe my choice of words were not appropriate..
If I said the community, it's to make people aware of it, not pointing fingers, as this Tank might never know this Forum exists..
So please don't take it for yourself, unless.. you are that Tank.
If you check me on the Lodestone, you'll see that I Main Tank..
And quite helpful, and I'll stick until the end.
All I'm asking is for other Tanks to pull their weight.
I'm an achiever, and I want to lvl up other jobs too.
Hence why I resort to DPS, and.. I had a blast! Woohoo! Been so long..
Once again, you hit the right spot ^^I see tanks drop all the time on certain dungeons right at the start, healers just as often. Whats absurd is that the dungeons dont even take 30 mins, so its less than the CD.
Anways, thats why I just rolled a tank, sure I spend every levelling roulette doing Aurum Vale or Stone Vigil pretty much but they dont take long at all if you know what you are doing.
I personally think that people who just drop on a roulette either shouldnt have qued in they werent prepared to do one of them or should get a stiffer penalty, perhaps make it reportable as harrasment of the partys time...
Yup, I usually play DPS in games, never Tanked.. before FFXIV makes you feel obliged to do it (who wants to wait 30min+ all the time?? o.O)
I got used to it and now.. I like it, specially the DRK!
See, I'm the total opposite: maybe a new player just need this to be done in order to have his story or else to move on..that dungeon is just longer than any other dungeon and cant be done by these stupid "speed" runs xD
so some people hate it.
I leave steps of fate, Final Gilgamesh fight, Ravana, Bismark and Chrysalys if "Random" roulette puts me in there >,.>
Because I just hate them! Long fights! And people failed to often and wasting time =.= -> black listet runs
So I stick with what I get, unless everyone bails out, which makes no sense. Give tips, instructions, and If you see that it fails after 3 attempts at least, yes it took 30 min of your time, but these guys will perhaps know better the next time they'll get a non-leaving group.. >.<
So.. being so nice toward others, and then to see how some react and just quit on first sight, makes some nice people to want to stop being.. too nice to others.
It's a bad circle, wonder how SE can break it.
+1 /applauseI think leaving a roulette just because you don't like the location it selected goes against the spirit of the roulette system. How about locking people out of using roulette for a longer period if they do this, but still letting them use Duty Finder the normal way to pick their favourite dungeons?
Obviously this would be unpopular as the main reason people opt for roulette in the first place is for those bonus rewards, but the purpose of the system is to keep the queue active for people who actually need to do specific content. It's not doing them any favours if half the party leaves on entry because the penalty for doing so is outweighed by the potential rewards of running faster/better content a short time later. If they're leaving because they think they will make more exp/tomestones per hour by doing so even with the current penalty, the system needs to be adjusted to discourage this behaviour.

I've been trying to level up ninja, and the other day my leveling roulette placed me in Aurum Vale. The tank left immediately and the healer followed, so I was like "welp" and left. I requeued but it really was kind of a bummer to have to sit through two dps queues. Especially since the second queue put me in Sastasha, where most of the XP I got was from the roulette bonus and probably wasn't even close to the XP I would have gotten from AV.
Anyone who says "roll a tank" or "roll a healer" is missing the point since you can't get XP for dps jobs on a non dps roll.

It's amazing how self-absorbed some people are, that they're so willingly waste other peoples' time and patience all to save themselves a bit of grief.
Anyways, I don't understand all of the AV complaints. In my opinion it's one of the shorter dungeon runs that you can get but I suppose it having an "annoying colour" passes as a legitimate excuse to spit in the faces of any DPS who have have been waiting upwards of twenty minutes for the stupid thing to even pop.
