I'd love that little guy as a minionToh Y Thrah
Why must you taunt us with perfect wyvern sized companions for our DRGS. There's almost no excuse now for why DRG's don't have a wyvern fighting alongside them.
I'm guessing there's already been threads about this topic but I just saw this guy and now the struggle is real.
This is for wishing some day we get our wyvern companions!

More Dragon quests with my little friend Kal Myhk please SEMaybe something to do as dailies as well (because I want to chill with dragons all the time
)
Edit: LMAO Ashkendor

Considering how resilient pets are in FFXIV compared to FFXI, it COULD work, but it would mean scaling back our damage CONSIDERABLY to make room for the damage contribution of a pet. I mean, MCH and SMN DPS by themselves is much lower than say MNK or DRG, but their Turret/Egi help close the gap. No way could DRG have 390 potency combo finishers and 200-250 damage oGCDs AND have a pet...
If they ever do level 70 cap, then maybe they can rebalance it (give Wyvern breaths i.e. Holy Breath, Reis Wind, etc), but still, no thanks.

Msq so far has been wanting for peace with them. Guess im not far enough ahead. Not sure why people automatically assume they will require a pet bar or any actions at all. They can be full auto. Guess im just the minority
...even if we may or may not seek peace with dragonkind the dragoon (or, lets be more specific: the Azur-Dragoon that you are) is THE person who fights against the dragons... you're reciving your power from the eye that has been stolen from a dragoon thousand years ago - and as you will learn during the mainquest: the dragons dont forget that easly. We're seeking peace now, after a 1000 years of battle with YOU, as dragoon, being the most precious symbol for dragon slaughter... but yeah... lets give you a little baby dragoon to show him how to salughter his ancestors!
I dont play dragoon so I dont care much for what it would add to the playstyle... but I do care about the lore and seeing a dragoon aka a dragon-slayer running around with a little wyvern hes teaching to slay dragons feels just... wrong, sorry^^' also those dragons are children! Babies! You dont take a baby to the battle field to fight! They're just learning to hunt for themselves right now!
(But I would totally LOVE a little minion-pet of this damn cutie!)
Well if they are never going to forgive or forget then they deserve to be wiped out. Maybe Thoridan was right....even if we may or may not seek peace with dragonkind the dragoon (or, lets be more specific: the Azur-Dragoon that you are) is THE person who fights against the dragons... you're reciving your power from the eye that has been stolen from a dragoon thousand years ago - and as you will learn during the mainquest: the dragons dont forget that easly. Not sure if you've listend to the dragons during the storyline at all... they're getting much older than humans therefor they do not forget and forgive that easly because they dont have the same... "feeling" for time as we have. The lifetime of a human is a second for them - would you forgive the murder of your sister two days after she was tricked, killed and eaten? Would you then be like "oh, I've got this nephew here - may you take care of him and probadly hunt her husband down aswell!"
As Azur-Dragoon - thats what you dragoons are, remember? - you are THE symbol of the war between Ishgard and the dragons. Look at Estinien who was crazy about slaying Nidhogg and by that clearly showing that he didnt believe in a peaceful agreement. I could picture men and dragon working and fighting together one day - but in our lifetime...? Please... no. I understand that you would love to have a cute baby-dragon fighting at your side... but have you seen with how much care they're being raised by their loving, peaceful parents? Why should they, after 1000 years of war, just make a full turn and hand over one of their children to someone who used to be their enemy for decades? Someone whos wearing armor and weapons specially made to slay dragons? Not a lovely woman like Shiva who didnt had any attend to harm a dragon...
I listened to the story but I still think it's a pitiful excuse. The dragons make no attempt to see things through the eyes of other races. The fact that they won't even try to understand them makes me less sympathetic to them. It's actually quite childish. Most adult human beings can understand why others may think the things they do and can see things through others perspective while disagreeing with them at the same time.Not sure if you've listend to the dragons during the storyline at all... they're getting much older than humans therefor they do not forget and forgive that easly because they dont have the same... The fact dragons are unable to or unwilling to do so may indicate they lack a theory of mind.

FFXI only had a pet because the storyline lore of DRG was that Dragoons and their Wyverns were a binary system. Thus, only through training and spiritually bonding with a Wyvern was a Dragoon able to develop and become such an elite warrior. 75-80% of all of Dragoon's abilities in FFXI centered around the Wyvern, and even the story revolved around hatching a Wyvern egg and investigating the Holy Crest of the Last Dragoon and why he had to slay his Wyvern companion when it stopped baring said crest (probably because the Wyvern recognized his master was slaying his compatriots in a stupid Civil War and thus did not deem his master's actions as noble or just.
At any rate, Wyvern worked for FFXI because REALLY, DRG was an expansion job that was another 2handed weapon, high delay, DPS job. They wanted to differentiate it from WAR or DRK, so it was something else than just a slow hitting high damage melee -- so they made them a bit weaker (fewer abilites/traits/lower strength and attack/mediocre weapon skills) and gave them a pet which was intended to make up the damage gap, but tl;dr is...it never did until maybe 1-2 years ago, so FFXI DRGs pretty much sucked for about a decade.

This would only leve one question. How many Goons named Daenerys can one server have?
