    Melding in 3.2

After reading the translation for the 3.1 Live Letter, I'm wondering if anyone else has insights/opinions towards the changes to melding. Specifically, the introduction of melding on raid and tomestone gear.

The reasoning behind removing the ability to meld main stats on accessories makes sense to me, though this seems to be a huge detriment to healers that don't have any other way to get enough accuracy to dps effectively. Though, I'm more curious about whether there will be overmelding on raid and tomestone gear.

There are a lot of ways in which this can play out. It could be that there will not be overmelding, and you only have a few open slots to meld to. There could end up being 5 open slots. Or, it could be just like overmelding any current crafted item. The last option seems like it would be a strain unless the chances of successfully overmelding were adjusted.

Does anyone have any insights on this? Thoughts, speculations, opinions, all welcomed.

Accuracy is not a main stat though. Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Mind, and Intelligence are the main stats. Thanks to that one ARR relic stage, they do not seem to consider Piety a main stat. The other stats, Accuracy, Determination, Crit, Spell and Skill Speed, these are secondary stats, not main stats.

Yeah, you're right about the accuracy, Roth. So, this would mostly be for tanks, as the live letter suggested.

And I know this isn't for a bit, but I'm just curious, since I think it'll have an effect on the community. Regardless, I'll be spirit bonding a lot more in preparation.

    Thanks.

Yup wait for the 3.1 before worrying about that...
And the anima weapon too XD

That being said... The point about tome/raid gear being meldable does concern me...
But i'm waiting to see what they will do...

    Here are my thoughts:

    1. Good. Now I can give up crafting completely, because the one thing that I could reasonably expect any endgame player to want to purchase (crafted jewelry) is now worthless since they can meld stats on currency jewelry with a higher ilvl that it takes them a fraction of the effort to obtain.

    2. Now that I've been successfully relegated to a Glamour maker, hopefully they'll at least have some glamour items to make that are worth the *months of time* and *millions of gil* it takes me to get my skill up to the point that I can make the higher level items.

    3. Maybe they should let the vendors sell HQ food for cheap as well, that way they can shoot Culinarians in the face while they're busy wrecking the other crafting professions.
