So I was out doing the SkyPirate thing when I noticed the Void Ark flying around. I thought to myself it seems to not need balloons to be powered, it just flies. As my usual adventures go I just go in and destroy the stuff inside, when it starts going crazy with monsters. At which I notice it drops parts off as it sends stuff to other realms. I chased after the dropped components into the void

Then it sends me to a period back in time where I have to fight the early masters of our planet to fashion a power core. It needs a heart of a dinosaur to power it as it runs on the spirit energy of enormous monsters.

I then was fortune enough to find a Moogle princess to send us back through the void as they are magic beings. And there you have it, how I have the most amazing piece of speed in the sky that totally makes all the guys jealous.

    The Command Relay Module

It was a quiet, sunny afternoon outside the study window when the help first arrived with our most challenging commission yet: An organization known as 'Community Team' was in need of airship enhancements which would aid in the effective execution of their mission. Details beyond that were sparse; it seemed they were in need of inspiration, as much as fabrication. Just as well - any outfit could pound rivets and shape mythril. 'Community Team' had clearly come to us for our realm-renowned ability to produce novel solutions to practical problems.

After considerable research - and more than a few long nights in the Free Company think tank (literally a tank of sorts; we do our best thinking in the tub) - we concluded that effective and efficient communication is vital to 'Community Team' operations. So it was that our commission found us in Azys Lla, reverse-engineering the ancient audio-transmission technologies of the Allegan Empire, which we soon discovered played a key roll in the force-fields protecting the zone. Here, one of our research craft can be seen receiving short-wave signals from an array of the massive sonic resonators that reinforce the shield.

    It is difficult to say whether gaining an understanding of the tech we were working with was the greater challenge, or if adapting it to our purpose holds that distinction. For integration aboard an airship, the equipment had to be considerably reduced in both volume and weight. Fortunately, given that the device is only intended to transmit information remotely - and not to power a barrier which surrounds a sizable airborne atoll - we were eventually able to compress it into a much more mobile form, seen here, already installed aboard a luxurious airborne yacht;

For the benefit of 'Community Team', Garlea's Most Wanted proudly presents: The Command Relay Module!

What's the fastest way to travel in aeorzea? Well, If you've never been to where your going, it's probably via airship. But if you have been there, it's via the aethernet. The aethernet's great, but it only works for individuals. What if you could move something larger, say, an airship via the aethernet? This would be awesome, but the problem is you have to be a living entity to use it. This got me thinking, how could you make something like an airship into a living being, capable of accessing the aether? Well, as you might remember, magitech armor is an example of a living machine. It uses a mamett's heart as it's core. What if you gave an airship a similar core, and gave it the capacity to attune to aetherite crystals? It would make return journeys a lot shorter. Apart from that, the ship would gain other advantages, such an intelligent autopilot, the ability to accurately report damage to it's hull, and ask you how your days going . My idea is to make the airship alive.

The first thing you would need to consider is a core. A mamets heart is good by principal, but you would need something a little more heavy duty for an airship. We people of the modern age have never made something so complex, but we have dreamt of it. It exists now, as a result of the summoning of the primal, Alexander. So to get the core, I traveled to Gordias, and reclaimed it from the scrap of one if it's sentinals.

    https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...99982303_o.jpg

But what good is a core if it's a hostile entity that want's to destroy you? We don't want to make a self aware airship that hates people. To fix this bug, I traveled to Aziz La, and used the technology of the ancient Allagans to rewrite the cores primary directive. This is the same tech they used to restrain primals and dragons alike.
With the refurbished Gordian core in hand, I returned to Ishgard.

    https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...38368184_o.jpg

My hands are not skilled enough to build the casing for the core myself, but I know who is. Stephanivien , Master Machinist, was able to make for me the casing I needed, to my exact specifications. Finally, I took the components to Cid, to have my prototype tested.

    https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...30895298_o.jpg

With materials I assembled, and the hard work of the Ironworks engineers, we were able to breath life into an airship, giving it intelligence, emotions, and the ability move through the aether without dissolving. The airships of tomorrow will be smarter, faster, and able to get home via the same aethernet we adventurers have to depend upon.

I ask you, how many times have you been exploring the skies in your airship, only for your delicious beverage to succumb to the lure of gravity during a particularly precarious aerial maneuver?

How might such tragedy be prevented?

To that I say, "never again!" Hand-crafted in Eorzea from the finest Garlean rubber, this handsome set of Aetherial Flagongrips keeps your container securely ensconced within the very bosom of safety! They even maintain a drink's heat or chill via an aetheric infusion!

The rubber is locally and renewably sourced from actual Garleans!

Never again lose the contents of your flagon, flask, stein, bottle, mug, jug, or cup!

Praise the Twelve for Aetherial Flagongrips!

It all started with a simple idea ...

Turns out it wasn't as simple as I had thought it would be. I did the only thing I could, I went to the library to hit up some books. After search high and low I finally found a schematics book on transforming wheel props.

Being a book on lost technology, naturally, it was sitting out in the open for all to see. After reviewing the plans, I realized that one of my old friends had a lot of the parts already, so I went to pay him a visit.

When asked if I could have some parts he grunted, I've always assumed that this meant "yes," he's never really said anything else to me.

I have the parts, I have the plans, now I just need to put this wagon together.

Do you have a small Free Company more interested in exploration than fighting? Do you worry more about what would happen to your airship if it actually encountered a monster than what treasures it can bring back? Then consider applying my custom Stealth Shields to your hull!

Inspired by various monsters that seem to “vanish” into thin air, these custom-mounted Stealth Shields will allow your airship to slip on past those pesky flying monsters and pirate airships.

First, I noted how well dragons seemed to handle the sharp wind on their skin, and slayed a few for their resilient hides. They put up such a fight, but that just allowed me to pick the choicest of skins. I pass the savings onto you, the customer.

While those skins cured into leather, I headed out to the snowy wasteland to gather up dozens of handfuls of mythrite sand. Those glowing grains do a wondrous job of refracting light! Although the fine powder does tend to tickle the nose.

Once back home, I drained the marketboard of any and all hot chocolate to warm my frigid hands for the final, critical part. After a liberal rubbing of scale glue onto the hardened leather, I sprinkled the sand onto the hides and invisible shields were born!

Well, not entirely invisible, but the Stealth Shield bends enough light around your airship to deter most monsters in the sky. In simpler layman's terms: aethereal magical... stuff. Never again worry about surviving encounters when you can just avoid them. Available to be custom-fitted over any hull type!

After hearing the call to find an airship component worthy of traversing in an efficient manner, I couldn’t help but think of my Bomb Palanquin.

Speaking with 789th Order's resident Bomb Expert, Ba Go, I discussed an observation I made with the local Grenade enemies. They combust endlessly without damaging themselves or their kin. Using my skills in Alchemy I devised a container with Ba Go to capture these Grenades without hurting them, only needing them to explode for me and capturing them in while they recover their explosive energy!

Once captured I transferred them to a much larger container that had but one vent the bombs cannot escape through, but instead would allow their combustive forces to vent out of in a burst of speed.

Fighting Bismarck makes us realize how vulnerable we are fighting against sky dwellers. It's a Trial proven impossible without using Dragonkiller. So why not fashion ourselves Miniature Dragonkiller to be mass produced on every Airship?

To the Ishgard's Skysteel Manufactory where I think the technology lies! Besides, we have to ask if Dragonkillers are already patented or not

Turns out that the method of crafting Miniature Dragonkiller is proven impossible without mastercraft help. Who else but Gerolt that can help us?

Success! Now we can safely explore the skies of Abalathian without worry of any flying enemies trying to terrorize us.
