I was thinking about XI the other day, which is not something I commonly do when playing XIV. Back during Halloween events with XI, we got items that turned us into mobs and we could terrorize new players. It was a blast.

I thought it wouldn't be that difficult to introduce a disguise glamour, where you can mingle or fight while disguised as your favorite beastman, minion, or vaguely humanoid monster. I'm pretty sure that every single enemy in the game has both a melee animation, and a casting animation already. These could just be mapped over any applicable action. Some might say this is a mildly bland idea, but I don't think those people appropriately appreciate the idea of getting to play as a tonberry or gnath glamoured character.

The story lets NPCs become glamoured to nearly anything else in the world, visually, such as an imp turning into a hyur or roegadyn. Why not us as well? It could either be an equipable gear piece or glamour you put over your torso piece, or an item you use. Perhaps it would be its own menu of collected mob glamours, not unlike the mount or minion menus.

Oh, and bring back puppetmaster.
